    Okay so it looks like Okcupid is a start, how about smooch? Somebody mentioned that to me.

    @NH you're giving me hope although it does seem like a lot of legwork/talking before actually meeting someone :) but one question, are you asking them their full name? I think that makes sense?! How about stuff like facebook, access to profiles before actually meeting, as that would give an idea of the other person? You can always block/delete afterwards?

    @southof assets? You mean don't show a photo wearing a swimsuit? :)

    My trouble is with writing a profile, I've no clue what to say.

    Yeah swimsuit photos are out. I have pictures like that, but decided that it wouldn't attract the sort of men I wanted! The okcupid stuff is long winded but it is about selling yourself and it does help to do that.

    I would also say keep an open mind. My boyfriends pictures were ok but not amazing, his profile was interesting and he seemed decent so we met up fairly quickly after talking. It wasn't an instantaneous wow moment but he looked so much better in person than in his pictures and I love that we grew to love each other slowly :)

    Some of these sites are a total con as proved on tv recently.....they offer you a "free trial" and you get loads of responses,none of them genuine,as you think you are so popular you sign up and pay and then the responses dry up.

    I met my husband on midsummerseve

    It's free but you can't see who 'winked' at you without paying. Had I not been so tight I'd have met him 7 months sooner!

    POF. It's free and if you're lucky you might find someone as awesome as me on there.
