I am looking for a sim for text only use. Having just looked at Orange, 02 and vodafone you may as well be on contract! Does anyone know of a reasonable price plan for text use only please? Thanks

the tesco value sim is a good deal with texts always being 5p per text.
Good coverage too as it uses O2 network.

if you scroll down to the 4th sim offer you get the sim card and £10 credit for £5.

T-mobile offer free evening and weekend texts for £10 a month top up. Sign up to the text appeal tariff and get your day time texts for 3p I dont think you will find a better deal. Only available on sims ordered online.0

PAYG offers whereby if you top up by £10 per month you get 300 free anytime, any network, text messages. On Orange (I'm not sure about O2 - but they have bolt-ons so probably do something similar) you could then use £8 of your top-up to buy an £8 150 Text Extra, the remaining £2 would be charged at normal 10p per msg rate - so for your £10 you'd get 470 messages per month. I've made that sound soooo complicated

o2 and Orange offer 300 texts for topping up by at least £10 per month and you still get to keep your £10 to use as credit. You can get 500 texts for topping up by a minimum of £15 each month. Both networks offer inclusive WAP GPRS of 1mb (I think).
O2 info is here and Orange info can be found here (see first tariff plan).
At 10p per text (typical cost) then you're looking at £30 worth of free texts (based on 300 texts)0 -
Thanks for that information, will look into them now.0
