Hugs to those feeling the strain with work, I escaped from the NHS a year ago today, best thing I did, it was affecting my health so I sympathise with the strain you are under.

Hugs also to those who are poorly or who have poorly pets, friends and relatives.

Interview for me at 10am today, best get the office clothes out ...

Have a good weekend all, dinner tonight something from the freezer as want to defrost and restock.

  • Morning all
I'm up late today, I decided to stay in bed a while and have a cuddle with hubby, he doesn't start work til late today.
Hugs to TTFM, sorry to hear work is carp.
Laura, hope your cold gets better soon.
Molly & Hilly, take it easy.
Plans for today include all the stuff I didn't do y'day as I didn't feel too good, and some more rows of crochet. I did pop round to DD's y'day as she locked herself out, DGC were pleased to see me, or maybe just pleased to see the sweets I took with me!
    Have a good day everyone
    Hugs Hester
    Chin up, Titus out.
  • Didn't manage to post yesterday, but I did have a read.

Persisting down here, so no washing, I did get one load dry on the line yesterday but I still have half the wash basket left to do.

We popped over to Hemel Hempstead yesterday for a look around and I neded a few bits from certain shops that we don't have here. To be honest we have very few shops left here and I blame the council for too high business rates and a certain landlord who owns most of the town and charges extortionate rents.
We had a by-election for the council yesterday so ended up going out to vote at 8.30pm, after DH had finished his dinner.

Main shop today, luckily we don't need a lot just a few bits of fresh stuff.

(((((((((((((Hugs)))))))))))))) to all the poorlies, especially Hilly, bethebee, Hester, PP, Halight, Molly and any others I have forgotten.

TTFM Hang on in there, I would not be putting in extra hours if I hated my job and knew that I was in line for redundancy, the company are just exploiting you.

Right, best get on DH will be home soon and I have to shoo DS off to college.

  • Hi all,
Had a strange night, lots of dreams. Doorbell rang at 7.30. I had to unplug my pump, get a dressing gown on, unlock the door and answer it. There was a lady there from the carers who I had cancelled:mad: I didn't want them, and they only had a ha;f hour anyway.
    Sent her away.:o
Managed to get myself washed and dressed and made myself some cereal and juice.
DD is coming later to stay for weekend.

Also need to tell you all that I have a new grandson who was born when I was in hospital! His name is Evan, he was 7lb 6oz born on 15th August:T

Tired today, so will sign off now.

    Morning all.
Persisting down here again, but washing pile is low, might just do what's there as DD will no doubt have a pile for me on Sunday morning!

Hugs to all wh need one, a few of you I think just now!:grouphug::grouphug:

I have been wide awake since 3am, not sure what woke me but I couldn't get back to sleep, have read a book already today.
MIL has pleurisy again, and looks awful. Went to see her yesterday, and came home clutching 2 lobsters which are in the fridge thawing out. One may turn into risotto tomorrow, will see what I fancy.
Right, am off for a long shower, still congested so hopefully the steam will help a bit.
    Have a good day all.
    RIP Iain

  • Morning all, haven't posted in ages!

TTFTM - I know exactly what you mean about certain "faces" fitting - looks like the boss (who is NEVER here) thinks we have too many secretaries and looks like it could be me who could be out as I don't "fit" (i.e. I work instead of gossiping!). Never mind I'm probably the fastest but hey ho if it does happen then after over 6 years I may get a fairly decent payout. You get fed up of working your socks off for nothing though, we've not had a pay rise in 5 1/2 years!!

We've finished decorating the living room and kitchen, just the bedroom really now to do - our bed broke the other week so have borrowed his mums spare bed. Definitely not as comfy so that will be next on our shopping list :(

Not much OS this weekend - off to Southend tomorrow with OH's darts team for their annual trip, then it's my mum's birthday on Sunday so will be going to see her. If I get time Sunday morning i'll try and make her a cake as she always makes me one - at my nephew's insistence :rotfl:

Hugs to all who need one, try and stay dry!
  • Morning chums damp and grey here in north Kent, looks like more rain is on the way.Still it saves watering the shrubs :):)

History club is back on this afternoon which is my favourite day of the week It will be nice to see all my old friends and catch up after our summer break.

No school run today as my son-in-law is working from home so I actually had a lie-in until 7.30 :) then a lesiurly shower and breakfast instead of the usual rush :):)

Just pottering around this morning, just going to put the coffee on to perk as I fancy a nice read and some coffee from my special stash of flavored coffee (I have a nice coconut and caramel one ).DGS brings me all the stuff home from work that the other folk don't like .He is allowed to as it would only get binned !!!.His company have a contract with a company that supplies them with all their coffee in packs and some of it is flavoured. So Danny's Gran gets to have their left over stuff :):)I' not complaining its really nice and fair trade as well so its win-win all round and nothing gets wasted :):)

Right I'm off to get perculating and feet up and a read before lunch
<<hugs to those who are feeling poorly >> there seem to be a few around at the moment

PP how quick has the time flown since your DD started 'big school' and now she's off to Uni
have a good one every one what ever you are doing

  • Hello again

well we had gammon for dinner last night was a reduced £2 piece from co-op from freezer section and wasnt that bad actually.

I have just done my tax return for 2012/13 whilst I had the time although that website form confuses and scares me somewhat so fill it in as best as I can answering the questions as best I can doesnt help I am employed and self employed - sure I have just overpaid as my employment is all sorted by itself and then my self employment is usually 20% of net earnings but seemed to be more this year and looking at calculations its due to me putting in excess mileage from employer but thats already been adjusted within this yr tax code - anyway would rather have overpaid (I keep back a 1/3 of earnings anyway to be safe) than unpay and be penalised - sure it will work itself out - only second yr have done it. (dont earn enough to have an accountant!)

think its time for a well earned cup of tea.
