Parking charge help!

On 9 oct 2012 I received a parking ticket for parking in a doctor space in A&E at our local hospital. The reason for this was my daughter was seriously ill and was rushed straight into recuse, this was the only space available. I moved my car as soon as the doors were with my daughter. I was advised just to ignore the ticket which I did, and was sent several letters threatening legal action which I also ignored the last one being over 7 months ago. That is until today I have recieved a solicitors letter saying pay or proceedings will be lodged with the county court. HELP want should I do.

  • Have you told the hospital all about this problem?
  • Who issued the claim ?

Good work getting the Doors to your daughter though - always liked their music ! *** Obviously a flippant reply but hope she's OK now ***

Wait till the court actually send you something then respond to it immediately refusing to accept liability for the claim.

Then they'll either continue or withdraw it.

If it gets to the stage where you have to go to court then attend and explain it to the court. PPC's never win defended claims....they win the ones where people do not defend and they win automatically.

So now you move the complaint to the Facilities Manager and cite distress/emergency, this is now harassment - and the car was moved immediately:

Learn from other people's persistence. This isn't a complaint to be made lightly, this is something to pursue with the Management now - showing the horrible solicitors letter - not some random person at the Hospital who was 'sorry about it' but useless.

And do you actually have a small claim yet? Which Solicitor wrote? Have you yet responded?

What did the Hospital Management say when you made an official complaint about this? You haven't been still ignoring it despite our advice I hope? COMPLAIN!

What heading is on the letter, is it a 'Letter before Claim' or what?

    Which Solicitor is it from?
