I bought a Samsung 22F5400 for my bedroom a few months ago, but I'm having trouble getting picture to my liking. I had a look at this, but still having trouble getting it to my liking. I'm a complete novice.
It seems to me that standard mode seems more natural. Is this right?

If you've been to that link and heeded the advice there then it's really down to your own personal taste which mode you prefer. The idea of "picture perfect" is to highlight that many viewers are missing out by not adjusting the picture on their television. However, it's just as possible to go to the other extreme and attempt to make too many adjustments and never be content.

As long as you haven't simply left your TV in the mode used in shop showrooms, you'll be fine.
