JSA clerical payments

Hi I have been told by the BDC that there is a fault with my claim and that I have to let them know when I sign on so that they can pay me. They tried paying me using the system but it returned error messages and they have put me on clerical.
I signed on yesterday and they told me when I phoned the contact centre to phone them on Monday when I should be paid is that correct?
How long is this error going to go on for?
Is there anyway that I can resovle it?
I have to go to the office to phone up 0845 600 6334. Is there an alternative number? As it can be time consuming going there more than once. The reason I ask is that I believe that contact centres are used by more than one BDC

Clerical claims just happen through some glitch in the system. The captions that come up on screen are actually meaningless other than an indication it's frazzled.
Unless things have changed they can go on for months, even years. And it won't necessarily be cleared if a claim closes and a new one follows later.
It might start working for Universal Credits. Or maybe DWP has a special exercise to clear all the 'clerical' claims.
Word of advice: Keep records of your clerical payments, periods paid for, especially any money deducted. And keep a couple of letters as proof.
Any computer enquiries made at future dates will not only indicate you have no claim (especially irritating if Housing Benefit or some qualifying period is involved) but may also mean that monies deducted (loan repayments, overpayment recovery etc) don't get recorded.0 -
Thanks for letting me know this.0

I forgot to mention that I also work part time and the income varies all the time. It is not fixed hours. Would that have any affect?0

I have two on-going claims that are being paid on a clerical basis.
Both have caused no end of trouble. As an example, the council refuse to believe that I am receiving Guaranteed Pension credit. Whenever they look on their system it says that nothing has been awarded. Even worse when I ring the Pension Service they can't work out what I am on about as their screen shows that a claim has been recorded but has not been awarded or put into payment.
Then there is ESA. If I am lucky, I might get the right amount put into the back on the right date. More often than not I have to chase them up and the payment can be anything up to a week late for 2 weeks money. I never get an apology just the impression that I am one of the 'moaners' that is demanding to be paid some money when I want it.
The Pension Credit claim has been like this since March this year and the ESA claim since September 2009!!!0 -

ESA & Pension Credit computer systems have compatibility issues which cause faults if both benefits are in payment.
You could just close your ESA claim and PC will make up the difference (and the claim should then be able to be paid in the normal way)0 -

Same old Andy!!!0 -
Has anyone had their claim go back on the system the normal way?
Does DWP have any plans to resolve this?0 -

That would seem to be the most logical way forward, but unfortunately according to the Pension Service it would lead me into trouble.
I contemplated that myself but they sent me a letter telling me that if I gave up the Contribution based ESA in favour of Pension Credit I would be hammered for 'giving up a benefit that I was entitled to' and would fall foul of the deprivation rules.0 -
I have made a FOI request related to this. https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/user/abdul_hai
Maybe someone should start an e-petition? I am not good on those things. http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/check0
