i suppose for security reasons ot's best if they keep silent about the reasons as with legitimate cases of fraud because it will give criminals a heads up on what banks know about their activities.
e.g. if they actually say we suspect you of fraud then they have to justify that and give reasons why they suspect that. Opens up a can of worms.
When dealing with actual fraudsters it's best if they dont give any clues as to how much the bank knows about their fraud activity.
I would recommend that you do all the background work, get a recent credit report and contact CIFAS if they know anything.
Could be a mistaken identidy, or a fraudster could have dropped your address into something which has triggered a false alarm on you.0 -

Yes of course, and they wouldn't hesitate to do so if they felt it desirable, they wouldn't have to give you notice either, just tell you not to set foot on their property again. You have no right to insist any company does business with you. If you can prove the decision is discriminatory on sex/race basis you may have some recourse, but generally not.0 -
a LOT of teenagers get banned from shopping centres for loitering.
Their rules are very wide encompassing and can pretty much ban everyone from their shopping centres, but they enforce it selectively to teenagers and hoodies who just want to hang around and be a nuisance.
I think tescos will have similar rules.
Welcome to the real world. Corporations are not walkovers, if they think you're a threat they will take action against you.0 -
Looking over this thread, I conclude there is a good chance tomintrouble (and may be his brother and/or other people at their address) might be suffering from the consequences of language difficulties. May be they could get some friends to help them reviewing the communication they had from the bank? Or even go as far as paying for professional help with their banking affairs?0

Natwest send me latter telling that they are going to close my all accounts within next 30 days. So i have to take all my money out, transfer my all DD and pay their credit card bill from some other bank accounts. They even didn't give a single reason for that.
- i never took any loan
- never used over draft
- there was more than 5000£ in my account
- never missed a single DD, and having one credit cards of 1800£ and never missed its payment
- been with them for more than 5 years
- i have good and clean credit rating on checkmyfile.com
This is making me mad, no one in natwest listening and thats it.0 -

Very common in business to business for a supplier to get so fed up with a customer's antics that they simply refuse to deal with them or quote for them.
It gets funny when several suppliers all refuse to deal with a customer and said customer simply cannot get anyone anywhere to supply them with some item.
Strange to report the said customer rapidly has an "attitude re-adjustment" in their dealings with suppliers.0 -

It happens even in some consumer services. One reason often stated in T&Cs for immediate closure of your bank account and demand for repayment of any funds owing is abusive behaviour towards staff.
Completely OT aside: One faintly amusing Ombudsman decision I read was around a customer who claimed that Santander had unfairly closed his account and treated him poorly in branch, trying to humiliate him. What actually transpired was "he commented on a member of staff’s body and handed a member of staff a newspaper article relating to a medical procedure to assist weight reduction which he appeared to suggest the staff member would benefit from" (the FOS do like to use, shall we say, "diplomatic" versions of language used in situations like this, so read between the lines.) The best bit however is when the ombudsman notes, after the customer's claim that he didn't mean any harm by these actions, "that Mr E has also referred to the size of one of the bank’s employees in his letter of complaint to the bank."
Oddly enough the complaint wasn't upheld.
