What reason did they give when you asked them?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

They have to give 60 days notice to close it without any reason.7.1
Closure by us
7.1.1 We can close your account immediately if:
(a) we reasonably suspect that you have given us false information;
(b) we reasonably suspect that your account is being used for an illegal purpose;
(c) you behave in a threatening or violent manner towards our staff
; or
(d) you were not entitled to open your account.
7.1.2
We can also close your account by giving you not less than 60 days’ notice before we close your account.
If they don't give any reason complain, than take it to FOS.0 -

That doesn't mean they have to tell you the reason - you're not actually entitled to know0 -

my cousin who registered his account at my address, also got same latter from natwest
both of us got the same latter on same day, we have diff names/surnames and his credit score is perfect.
is it because of address?
This sounds like a CIFAS placed on your address.
i.e. someone has committed fraud/lied on an application when applying for a credit product at your address.
Apply for your credit report with Experian and Equifax. My money is on a CIFAS placed on your address.0 -
So, are their T&C not worth the paper they are printed at?That doesn't mean they have to tell you the reason - you're not actually entitled to know
What's the point in printing all this rubbish quoted above if they actually can just close the account without any reason with 30 days notice?0 -

The terms and conditions state that they can close and account immediately for the reasons you listed above and will give 60 days notice for other reasons. It doesn't actually stipulate that they have to let the account holder know the specific reason they have chosen to close it.
There is a reason the account is being closed - but they are not obliged to tell you.0 -
Are you serious?
T&C is the document for two sides, not one.
If one side can not disclose the reason this means that they close account without any reason and don't need any reason actually to do this as they can keep it secret.
If they want to close the account with 30 days notice they have to give one of four (a)-(d) reasons listed in the T&C, even if this reason is just a suspicion.0 -
Have you used a private account for business purposes and putting a large number of transactions hoping to avoid business charges?0

I'm being absolutely serious.
You can close your bank account without any reason.
They can close your bank account without any reason.
It does work both ways?
Banks don't engage in any discussions when an account is being closed.
They don't need a reason to close an account. If there is reason, which there more than likely will be, they do not have to tell you (legally they may not even be allowed to tell you in some cases). What is so hard to understand?0
