wood burning stove

We have an ancient Baxi back boiler in the chimney flue in the living room fireplace and we really want to have a wood burning stove instead. What are the options and how expensive is this going to be?

Easy enough job for a decent builder and fitter to take out the existing and replace with either a multi / wood fuel stove or an inset stove.
Always best not to scrimp, get the best you can comfortably afford. Bear in mind wood isn't cheap, if gas is available - stay with it and get a different gas fire.
A decent stove say a Clearview gonna cost £1100 + fitting + whatever building work is needed. You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -
Expect to pay several thousand pounds for the stove and fitting plus liner and then pay again for the fuel. Stoves are luxury items. Many of us think they are worth every penny, but they rarely save money compared with using mains gas.0

Thanks. Not expecting it to save us money, we are viewing it as a luxury item.0
