I am 36 next month and I hate Steam or Origin. They are nice concepts but all I see them for are the poorly veiled advertising boards that they are; constantly getting games shoved in your face.I am 33 soon.. does that mean I am an older gamer! Is it bad that I remember when games came on cassette tapes and in order to cheat on your favorite game you have to spend about an hour writing line after line of code from C64 Magazine..... Oh the good old days.
There is a website called Gamerdads which I have found which is a community aimed at the older gamer if anyone is interested.
I know what you mean, it wasn't just about up, up, left right, left right, X then O then X
You really had to work for your extra lives, and woe betide anyone who happens to get their code wrong, though there were some unexpected side effects to this if you were like me and actually went looking for them lol"Don't blink. Blink and you're dead. They are fast. Faster than you can believe. Don't turn your back. Don't look away. And don't blink. Good Luck" - The Doctor.0 -
You mean 'screaming little kids' on COD, which is an 18 rated game! Should be arrested.....
I'm 30 and have played since age of 7-8. Not online tho, who'd of thought online could be so boring? Skyrim for me!Target Savings by end 2009: 20,000

Debts: 8000 (student loan so doesnt count)
new target savings by Feb 2010: 30,0000 -
It depends who you play with Dave I suppose, back in my Runescape days I used to play a lot with the more mature members of the community, player moderators and my forum buddies. Now what you get is a load of kids who may actually be quite mature (one of the kids I played with was 14 and he is a smart one, admin for my old forum) but most of the time I cannot be bothered taking a chance and finding out.
I will play with others, but cannot be bothered with drama."Don't blink. Blink and you're dead. They are fast. Faster than you can believe. Don't turn your back. Don't look away. And don't blink. Good Luck" - The Doctor.0 -
I'm 35, which according to an article in Wired is actually the average age of a male gamer.0

im 33 and play regularly, not online though
I think anyone that was a child, or close to a child in the 80s when computer games took off is likely to continue playing them, like watching films etc...
I think some adults consider computer games for kids, but thats mainly due to the fact they were for kids when they first emerged 30 odd years ago, its just now that generation have carried on with them0 -
I am only 21 and feel like I am too old for games!0
