Assuming they even have delivery contracts; we shouldn't overlook the rise of click and collect/delivery to stores, Collect+ and the like.
.
I use click and collect because the delivery services used are so woeful and many click and collect are actually your parcel delivered to a store by the same firm that would have delivered it to your house.I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.0 -
The rumor this morning was that people applying for £750 of shares will get the first priority, and anyone who wanted more than £10,000 in value receive anything. Strange system, we'll know who's got what tomorrow.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Well that rumour was spot on.
I'm sure some people will moan about the method but there would be people unhappy whatever allocation system was used. At least this way no small investor will be empty handed.0 -

Royal Mail shares priced at 330p. Everyone gets £749 except investors who asked for £10k-plus and get nothing0 -

this bit made me laughCable also urged Royal Mail boss Greene - who currently earns £1.5million a year - and her fellow directors to resist the temptation of rapidly escalating their pay after privatisation or face the Government trying to block their pay packages as a minority shareholder.
Do you reckon he said "pretty please"I don't want to achieve immortality through my work, I want to achieve it through not dying0 -
Give me Royal Mail anyday over yodel. Yodel are an unprofessional joke. I and many others do not use or purchase from companies that use yodel.0

It's because anyone who can afford to spend £10k on shares is clearly rich and deserves to be punished, Vince Cable says so.0 -
10k would also more qualify those as a professional investor or as a person with more options available.
Where as joe bloggs with 750 cant really be taking time off to investigate or discuss various alternatives with an IFA, people putting 10k into one company are in the realm of having money professionally managed far more. Funds will get most shares, so these funds can be bought by anyone.
I know someone who will buy RM on friday via a select broker0
