  • Hello everyone, I just came across this thread while browsing on my tablet. Penny-Pincher I so feel for you taking your daughter to Uni. I am lucky that my very talented daughter elected not to go to Uni (yet) and she is very much enjoying her Apprenticeship and I love that she is still at home.
It's quite misty outside and I feel quite cosy sitting in my warm bed. OH is up and getting ready to go out to work. I need to get up and motivated - lots of sorting to do - how did we accumulate so much stuff?
OH will be retiring after Christmas and I'm not altogether looking forward to it. Moneywise will be different although we have savings.
Think I'll bake a tea loaf and some scones - yum.
    Have a nice day y'all. X
  • PP - I remember the feeling well. You'll be fine, just remember to stock up on tissues for when you are home alone.

    Hello Bargainhunter :hello:

I'm off to the dentist for a filling. I've had no pain but after having an xray last week she said she could see a bit of decay. Not sure whether to believe her - she did show me the xray but I couldn't see anything!

Must do some ironing and stock up on some condiment bits. A visit to the butcher is on the list too.

Very misty and dull here today so washing is on the airer! I hate it when its not cold enough for the heating to be on as it doesnt seem to dry quickly enough.

    Good day everyone :)

    Morning all:j:j

    Chilly here this morning

I went to see my consultant yesterday afternoon,

The tumour that I had removed, was all taken out. And by the looks of the scans everything is starting to setal down in there now.

The was some bad news, the other brain Timor that I had has been growing, he dose not really won't to do an OP to sort it, so he's passing me of to another team of Doctors who do radio, he's going to recommend that they use the new hammer knife on me,

They should only have to have me in hospital for a few hours as a day case and blast my brain once with it, he thinks just the one treatment will sort the little !!!!!! out, it might not get rid of the thing but it should a least stop it growing and shrink it quite a lot.

Iv got no time frame to have this done. Iv just got to wait until this team contact me to go and see them.

Well that's about it really, nothing more going on here,

I hope that you all have a great day,

    Enjoy :j:j
:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j

    Morning all,

Chilly here but no need for heating as I am wearing one of my beloved woolly jumpers.

I am going to the hairdressers today. I hate going but enjoy it when I am there. I still can't get my arms up high/long enough to do the roots myself and don't want to be my natural colour which would (I think) be white - I take after the granny who was entirely silver by 55, rather than the granny who kept most of her hair colour into very old age.

Halight, hope the apt comes very soon

PP - it is hard but you are prepared for that. (I'm sure you won't do what my mother did: cried all the way home then packed up my possessions, took my bed apart and filled the room with other stuff so that when I came home I had nowhere to sleep!)

Have the best day you can everybody x

    Morning Guys!

Been ages since I posted, but although really emotional ATM and feel constantly sick DD is off to Uni this weekend!! Can you believe it? Where have all them years gone?

She also has a job and has so much stuff, I'm hoping it will go in car ok? Ive been a wreck with it all and worrying 24/7 which has caused me to be quite ill, but know deep down she'll be ok. Think we've trained her well with all the practical and manners etc. Its just me :-( Her mate is staying for the first night and she wants us to drop, wants me to make her bed (Ive washed Dumbo, Thumper, Nemo and Dory!) for her, have some lunch together, then we leave! We're gonna be a mess!!

I will have all her bedding washed tomorrow whilst she's at work so its all fresh and smells like home. She has loads of stuff for the kitchen including food and I have to keep reminding myself, she will call if she's not sure. I use Non bio powder I buy off Ebay in 10kg bags, so have put some in a box with a tiny scoop as you only need a little as super concentrated and wrote on it for her. Also have her favourite Lenor.

I will have a box still here of stuff Ive picked up for her and her favourite dearer items etc, that I can post to her or if we visit or likewise. Hoping to still see her at least 1-2 times monthly and we'll skype etc as she's been very depressed over the past 6 months and is now on medication for that and awaiting an official diagnosis of Bipolar. We'll deal with it as we have done with everything else over the years and theres great support at her Uni.

Anyway, I'm still quite ill and been in an out of hospital, have a new zimmer frame as my hip keeps popping out, plus loads more but CBA to go into it. Still saving the pennies and have had to.

I'm gonna miss her soooooooo much.

    Hope you're all ok.

    PP
    xx

    Morning all

pp sorry to hear you're not well , dd will have a fabulous time at uni, it sounds like you have prepared her well:T. My dd went last year and its really hard at first , you will miss her dreadfully but equally you will get used to her not being around and thank goodness for mobiles and Skype . You can keep in almost constant touch x

Day off today , 2 loads of washing done and on the line , kitchen cleaned , going to have a shower and ill clean it while I'm there . Then off shopping , I've got a split list for @ldi and sainsbugs

I need to ,measure the front door , I want to make a curtain ready for the winter as there seems to be a draught coming through

HM chicken curry for tea I think if I can be bothered to make it lol otherwise it's beans on toast

Have a good day everyone xx
  • Hello everyone!
I am back after six weeks in Kings College Hospital:o.
I have had the cancer removed, and am now at home recovering. Various setbks, one step forward and two back, but I am now getting there.:T
I have a vacuum pump on my wound at the moment, which is a bummer, but it helps the healing by half so that's good:j
Hope to have the strength to post more often now!
Thanks for all the love and support. xx

  • Hi all. Normally just have a quick read.

Really didn't realise that some of you are really quite poorly at the moment. Sending lots of love, hugs and best wishes to you all. :grouphug:

All I seem to do is moan about my lot, puts it all in prospective really when you read about others problems.

    Morning all,

a flying visit from me but I couldn't leave without wishing all the poorly people my love and I hope you all feel better soon. My word some of you are going through the mill.:(

Things are a bit up and down here at home with hubby. Its just a matter of riding the storm I suppose.

'Youngest' is tired and grumpy. He's walking to and from college at the moment as his Dad wont give him his bus fare. Well I say wont, that's not strictly true. Youngest, as a student is allowed a bus pass which entitles him to pay child fares on the buses to college and back. Despite the nagging to get his renewal sorted over the summer holidays he didn't. He doesn't seem to be bothered at the moment but his Dad wont give him bus fare till he sorts it out. Jeez its like World War 3 here at times. He's not a child anymore and he's got to get used to doing things for himself instead of waiting for Mum or Dad to fix things but I did suggest hubby gave youngest the amount that child rate bus would be but he wont hear of it.

Gammon, roast potatoes and broccoli for tea tonight. No doubt one of the men will pick at it. Hubby doesn't like roast potatoes and youngest doesn't like broccoli.

    Bahhh!

Done most of my chores already. Including a bit of tidying up in the garden.

I'm beginning to wilt a little bit so I think i'll go and put the kettle on. A bit of extra sugar wouldn't go amiss I think.

    Have a good day all,

    Morning all,

First day on my own since my brother arrived from Australia so I have lots of jobs to catch up on.
He has gone to see friends in Little Hampton so will not be back until tomorrow afternoon.
Tonight will be a healthy salad as we've eaten out far too often.
I've just listed some eBay items so that's another job done.
Hubby at work, ds3 at school.
Not much else, need to get on. Have a good day x
