Take Pity On A Fellow Reveller- Nus Frustrations!

I'm sure anyone who's University isn't affiliated with the NUS as such will appreciate my frustrations with regard to the discounts etc that you miss out on!

My particular frustration on this occasion arises from me attempting to buy tickets for the Industrial Resolution gig in Manchester- big savings if you have the elusive NUS code but if not its tough sh*t!

Purleeease... If anyone out there has access to the NUS site and could access this code for me I'd be SOOOOOO grateful! Only there's a few of us going and obviously it all starts to stack up!

Hope someone out there might take pity on a fellow reveller and do me this service!

Maybe you should go to a 'proper' university then ;)

Also a first post trying to blag someone to do something that is a bit wrong/dodgy aint the best start on a forum (just my opinion)

Quite a few decent universities disassociated from the NUS after they provided sweet FA for massive charges. They were off hugging trees in other countries will the government was piling on more debt. I know that global environment, welfare and political issues are pretty important but it shouldn't over ride issues that directly effect every future student.

Anyway, I would help you out but have no idea where abouts this would be on the site? Also not sure if I'd be able to access it because I don't think I ever activated my newest card... which I've just lost, so I don't have the number to activate it! Willing to try though.

Must have made some useful posts but then deleted them at a later date after they had been thanked. Or the thread got removed and the posts went with it.

Its only a suggestion but perhaps YOU should get out more? :rotfl: I reckon Leeds University is 'proper' enough, we just don't get full access to the NUS site. It was a request, which is what this site is all about- helping each other out. Didn't realise I needed a backlog of posts before I was worthy. Jesus.

I'm at Leeds Uni too and I have an NUS logo on my card, are you sure it's not the NUS extra part of the site you want?

Yes but people popping up once to help themselves isn't in the interest of the site and may lead to users being less willing to help others in the long run.

It's receptions like that to new members that turn people away and make them too scared to post. Not everyone is going to be greedy and just post once. If we bite the heads of every new member who asks for help, they are going to be no new members.
