Best car to buy and from where?

Ok, so we're looking to buy a fairly new car, we're a family of five so need a car with three individual seats in the back (possibly a seven seater) We have a picasso at the moment, just an old run about, looking to spend up to 10k on something new or newish. Quite fancy a zafira but reviews are not very good, was also going to go to Arnold Clark but after reading about them on here i'm not so sure now We live in Central Scotland, any suggestions or advice would be appreciated, thanks.

Not a fan of the Zafira myself. Have a look at the Ford S-Max, VW Touran and Toyota Verso. Also (and I don't often reccommend French cars) but I know a few people who've had a Citroen C4 Grand Picasso and swear by them. Not so sure myself, but it's one to try.

One other thing to consider - if you don't do many miles it will be cheaper buying a petrol but if you loads of miles or a lot of motorway driving a diesel would be better.

Can't reccommend on dealers as I'm about as far from Scotland as you can get... don't know if you have any Motorpoint dealers near you as I think they usually come up quite well as far as car supermarkets go.

Nothing wrong with Zafiras and they're now as cheap as chips. You can get a nicely spec'd 1.6 petrol one for approx £9695 on the road from any Vauxhall main dealer.

Just done exactly that!

Went looking for secondhand Meriva's, and stumbled across the £9,991 1.6 Zafira offer, with £500 cashback (ends today or tomorrow I think?). List is about £18.5k.

Lying in bed the next day at 4am (as you do) trying to decide if we should stretch ourselves, when the subconscious started to poke me and I remembered I had some old GM points. Finally found the 3 yr old letter, and discovered the £700 was valid till Jan 2014. Nice. Decision made.

Mazda5 all the way.

You might be able to squeeze a new shape 2.0 DISI with autostop for that.

Cut above the Zafy, electric sliding doors. Better to drive as well.
