Best car to buy and from where?

Ok, so we're looking to buy a fairly new car, we're a family of five so need a car with three individual seats in the back (possibly a seven seater) We have a picasso at the moment, just an old run about, looking to spend up to 10k on something new or newish. Quite fancy a zafira but reviews are not very good, was also going to go to Arnold Clark but after reading about them on here i'm not so sure now :( We live in Central Scotland, any suggestions or advice would be appreciated, thanks.

Not a fan of the Zafira myself. Have a look at the Ford S-Max, VW Touran and Toyota Verso. Also (and I don't often reccommend French cars) but I know a few people who've had a Citroen C4 Grand Picasso and swear by them. Not so sure myself, but it's one to try.

One other thing to consider - if you don't do many miles it will be cheaper buying a petrol but if you loads of miles or a lot of motorway driving a diesel would be better.

Can't reccommend on dealers as I'm about as far from Scotland as you can get... don't know if you have any Motorpoint dealers near you as I think they usually come up quite well as far as car supermarkets go.

Nothing wrong with Zafiras and they're now as cheap as chips. You can get a nicely spec'd 1.6 petrol one for approx £9695 on the road from any Vauxhall main dealer.

    Just done exactly that!

Went looking for secondhand Meriva's, and stumbled across the £9,991 1.6 Zafira offer, with £500 cashback (ends today or tomorrow I think?). List is about £18.5k.

Lying in bed the next day at 4am (as you do) trying to decide if we should stretch ourselves, when the subconscious started to poke me and I remembered I had some old GM points. Finally found the 3 yr old letter, and discovered the £700 :D was valid till Jan 2014. Nice. Decision made.

    Mart.
Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 28kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

    Mazda5 all the way.

You might be able to squeeze a new shape 2.0 DISI with autostop for that.

Cut above the Zafy, electric sliding doors. Better to drive as well.
