Fast way to sell house

If that first link is yours, the first thing that puts me off is two honkin' big oil stains on the driveway.
Would it be so difficult to get a contractor to lift and replace the affected areas? Yes, the new bricks will stand out, but surely that's better than the current look...?
You changed agent. Why? If the new agent markets at the same price, what are you getting from the new agent that's different from the old?0 -
Nice house.
Wish you luck selling it.
You have to compare like with like. If similar properties in the area - or close to it - are considerably cheaper you may have to compromise. If you're not getting any interest, few viewings, and no offers then it must be valued a bit too high. Instruct your EA to drop the price to, perhaps, £599.000? That might generate some interest.it won't sell anyway as nobody is buying!!
Well just stay and try the best to manage your finances. If you can afford to stay in your home then stay. Seems nice to me! Most people would love to live in a five bedroom house. Well, that's one way of looking at it.0 -
So you plan to purchase a much cheaper home? Will the new home require a mortgage?
Hope you don't mind my asking.0 -
This is my suggestion. Work out the lowest possible price you'd accept on your home. If you're not getting any views then start reducing the price down to that 'lowest possible price'. Give it, say, six weeks, before you get to the lowest price. If you don't get any viewings after six weeks you'll have to accept the property is too expensive. You'll have two choices.
1) Lower it even lower than your lowest possible price. I guess that would be under £500,000?
2) Stay in your home and don't sell. Restructure your finances, perhaps sell off any assets you don't need, to help pay off your mortgage.
If you cannot sale your home then you may need to get financial help to reduce the cost of your living. Perhaps you need help with your mortgage? Is there a mortgage section on this website? If so, perhaps you should post there.0 -
We do need to sell. We cannot afford interest only mortgage repayments. House was originally on for £720,000 and dropped twice to now £689,950 for 5 bed detached. Not in negative equity but have £500,000 mortgage.
Had repossession order last year and still struggling to pay monthly payments. Bad credit history so need as much as possible to move to a new house with 2 children.
Live in Northwest so property of higher value isn't moving too quick here.
So desperate to sell!!!!
Well, I beg the question: why did you buy such an expensive property in the first place? You've made your bed and you now have to lie in it!0 -

If the link is your house then I don't think it is just the price, the decor is clearly your choice but IMO it has a limited number of people who would choose it.
So I would not look at your house unless it was competitively priced and I could rip everything out, there is nothing I would keep. This is the reason you have only had two viewers, people are looking at it and imagining the work to get it how they want it, for new carpets, decorating, new kitchens and bathrooms that would be 50 k + .
You are looking to a very limited market, people do not want large mortgages any more, just like you, they want to live within there means.
I believe that if you drop 200k you may get a buyer if not you are probably stuck. Sorry it's harsh but sometimes it good to know even if it's harsh. Sorry!0 -
Rather spiteful, non?
You do not know how their circumstances have changed.
Jx
That's interesting, did you buy it with a 500k interest only mortgage 20 years ago?
Circumstances do change, and many people who have taken the equity out of their homes for holidays, cars etc are now stuck. I'm not saying that you did but I would be interested to know what price you paid 20 years ago?0 -
The trouble is that Liverpool isn't London - or even Reading or Guildford. The economic basis of the area cannot support such houses. As potential buyers you are looking at partners in professional firms, GPs and hospital consultants, company directors and very senior people in the Police, local government etc. These people form a small, even tiny, proportion of the local workforce.
And of course, the drug dealers and footballers....0
