    Morning :hello:

Mr tru was in Bristol yesterday, he rang and asked if I needed anything from Ikea because he was just popping in for something. You can't 'pop in' to Ikea, it's an Event :D I asked for a pack of hooks and some tealights. I now have 216 scented tealights, a chocolate scented pillar candle, a pack of picture hooks (a friend for the pack I already have), 18 stick-on hooks, 40 S-hooks (I already had loads, some in use and about 15 spare) and 6 dog bum hooks :rotfl:

I finally have a nice bathroom (apart from one bit of skirting board which I can't do, master tru is going to shape it for me, plus I haven't bought new hinges yet). It's such a tiny room and was difficult to work in. Looks nice now but I'm sick of the sight of it :D

It's cold here this morning, I'm going to jump in the shower in a mo, that should warm me up. I need to bag up some tomatoes for the freezer, do a bit of dusting, clean out Timmy Towers and hang some washing out. Then I'm having the rest of the day off :D

Good morning chums bit chilly this morning but dry at least .Well last night was quiz night and although we came third we enjoyed ourselves. My eldest DD came along to join in the fun.Everthing was going swimmingly apart for one very noisy man that kept heckling to quiz master and making stupid comments during the evening. My DD being quite a feisty lady bless her put up with it for about an hour then suddenly turned around and lambasted this guy.

Shelly " Will you please stop making all this noise we are trying to hear the questions and your inane drivel is driving us all up the wall be quiet for goodness sake"

    Man "I'm errrr only playing,"

Shelley " well don't its extremely irritating and disturbing the rest of us who have come here for a pleasent night out, not to listen to you spouting every two minutes"

There was total silence in this packed pub,it was like 'High Noon' then the
    chap said ",,,err sorry luve"

Shelly " and don't call me love I don't know you and have no desire to,
just keep quiet and get on with the game "

Game then proceeded with peace and quiet after that. When we finished several folk came up to Shelly and said 'Thank you for doing that he was spoiling our game as we couldn't hear what the questions were.'
The landlord also said thank you and two of the staff. My DD works in a special needs school and she said 'I just spoke to him as I would to any of the children who were misbehaving .Bless her,she said I hope I didn't upset anyone .She is an easy going person as a rule but can get quite feisty when she wants to .The chap stayed very quiet after that and we all finished off our game in peace.

Shelly text me this morning and said she had a good evening and would it be all right if she came again next week .I said yes of course ,she can be our 'bouncer. She is a tiny little thing of about 5'3" wet through, but will take anyone on.
Today I have a day off from the school run as my yougest has today off as she will be working on Saturday. So this morning I am just pottering around then after lunch I am off to my monthly U3A meeting I think our speak is going to talk about actions as the talk is called Going,Going Gone.I shall be helping out as a meeter and greeter so a nice afternoon of tea and chat.
I was going to put the washing on but the sky is looking a bit doubtful.I may make my DGD a big Victoria spong cake as they haven't had one of those for ages and perhaps a few choc chip cookies as a treat.
Hope everyone has a good day
    Cheers chums

    Morning all!
It's piddling down here, washing is on the airer! Might run quickly into town, I have a hole in my crocs and they are my favourite footwear, so will need to find another cheap pair, certainly not paying the prices in the croc shop!
Will use DDs staff discount in boots as I need concealer and cleanser and it works out the same price or dearer in duty free.
MIL obviously had a fit of remorse after giving me all her moans yesterday morning on the phone, and called me last night to ask if I wanted any lobsters as she has 4 in the freezer and doesn't like it, well it would only be right to help her clear a space in her freezer:D Her daft BIL must have brought them, although he knows she doesn't eat it and I love it!
Right, better get a move on, have a good day all!
    RIP Iain

    Morning all,
Went with DH to the GP this morning as he is not doing so well - more tablets, weekly monitoring and the GP will contact the hospital again.

He dropped me off in the town centre and I picked up some bits in Poundland for the shoebox appeal we contribute to each Christmas. I stuck my head into M&S and found the reduced rail - everything was £2 and I was lucky enough to get two pairs of cotton trousers for next summer so I can ditch the pairs that look like dishcloths after 10 minutes wear.

I've made the head, body and arms of the rag doll. onto the legs next. Shame I forgot to buy the stuffing I need!

TTFTM - words fail me! Inhumane Resources sounds more apt.

Have a great day all x
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.

    Morning,
Hope everyone is doing ok.Its been like clapham junction here today,& our doorbell hardly ever rings normally :rotfl:First the window cleaner, wasnt expecting him today. He had to meet Lyla of course, having 3 dogs himself, and I had to unblock the barricade on the side gate so he could get round the back&I always make him a brew. He'd only just gone when it rang again- meter reader,so we got talking dogs again :rotfl:,then postman loaded with parcels, including one dog bed,one scarf for DiL2b for her birthday today, and some fabric so I can make a new cover for the Moses basket.
I don't have to make tea :T as we are going for a birthday tea at Dil2bs mum & dads & she is going to cook shepherds pie.Says she has to start somewhere and hopes she doesnt poison us :D I think her Mum and Dad are still away but her brothers and sister will be there too with their families.
Pup seemed fine yesterday afternoon when we had to leave her to attend a friend's funeral. The service was very short, followed by a buffet at the local pub,and a lot of people turned out which was nice for the family.Obviously they were upset, but he had been terminally ill for some time and I think they were also relieved he wasnt suffering anymore. His son(a friend of our 2 since primary, secondary etc)was talking to me and said his Dad hadnt been able to have a conversation since July :(.It was good to see that a lot of his mates were there to support him as well,as he has been a fantastic help to his Mum.
I want to try and alter DNieces dress shortly, and have a good tidy up before we go out later.
TTFTM- sorry to hear redundancy consultation is not going well.
Julie- mmm slow cooked beef sandwiches-usually my choice when catering for a family 'do' :)
BBird- DS2,DB & SisIL,& DNiece have all given up using ecigs, nearly 2 years now!Just wish DS1 would give it a go.

    Bye for now x

  • Back from the Dr's biopsy results back, looks like colitis, nothing serious just painful possibly, signed off for another 2 weeks.
Dr suggested swimming 3 times a week, hmm, where am I going to get £14 a week?
Hubby dropped at work for the late shift, petrol tank filled up, a batch of chicken & rice for hubby's lunches, time to put my feet up and do some crochet.
    Have a good afternoon everyone.

Cloudy and breezy down here, have taken chance with washing and its out.

Had a quick walk by the sea with a friend to blow the cobwebs away, it worked!

Shin of beef in SC for tea tonight, might add some dumplings too, smells lovely

Hugs to all those that need them

Menu planned for the rest of the month and will buy weekly, feeling very virtuous and organised.

I have an interview for a job in a rather smart place on Friday, so have booked haircut, feeling and suspect looking a bit like the dog from the well known paint brand.

Hester if you get your doctor to write you a letter to say that you need to go swimming for health reasons you can get a concessions card, they do that at our local pool. I know because I have one so it only costs me £1.35 for a swim now.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
