Tesco credit card increase

Hi, does anyone know when Tesco Bank credit card offers the first increase in credit limit, or does it only depend on individual circumstances?
I ticked the box for automatic increases on my account and don't want to personally apply for an increase, but just wondered if anyone has a card with them and knows when the first increase might be?

Many thanks

  • My OH got one after holding the card for just over a year. I haven't had mine a year yet (Oct) so don't know myself.

    Any other input from anyone?

I'm not pushing for an increase (account only open 6 months anyway) but I'd be interested to hear.
  • My mum has a credit card with them. I just asked her about it and she ticked the box just as you did and she got her first increase a few weeks after she had the card for a year.

OH has had this card for a little over two years now with no credit limit increase, but neither has he asked for one. (Not a card he uses much.)

They'll only increase after having the card for a year and I've not received an automatic increase but have done it myself online a couple of times.

I think it depends on individual circumstances.

I've had a Tesco card for years. Never got an automatic credit increase (or even requested one). Then when I got an Aqua card, suddenly I was advised of an increase in my Tesco credit card limit
(or maybe it was related to the Asda card credit card closing?)
  • I got my increase letter same day as my 11th month statement - basically said increase applies from day of 12th month statement since getting card.
Never argue with an idiot. Especially not this idiot because I'm always right anyway.

just phone them up and ask.
  • After 12 months in the first instance and every 6 months thereafter.
  • Even if your missed a payment? Due to me changing Jobs (the new one mucked up my wages) I missed one payment last month. Now Im wondering if that s gone against me getting a credit increase. : /
