Do you agree !!!!!!!! offers with inflated before prices should be banned ?
I saw this CO OP half price offer today 1 kilo of Napolina pasta now £ 1.19 was £2.39
It's insulting that they think we are stupid enough to beleive that or any bog standard pasta ever was £2.39 a kilo. ( maybe in Harrods in Dubia it is ? )
we should boycot any store that does this.

All the big chains do it, not just co op. They all raise then decrease their prices. It's how they run these offers, and make money off of them.0

Oh another Coop thread. *Waits for meatballs to set the ball rolling*0

The current guidelines on pricing and the consumer protection regs already bans the practice as you describe it...you may have seen recent case where tesco was prosecuted and received a substantial fine for claiming strawberries were half price for months when they had only sold them at the higher price for a week.

Sadly some people are stupid (or lazy?) enough to see an 'offer' sign and assume that it's a good deal and not look at the details a bit more closely to see whether it is or not.Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -
Co-op are by no means the worst offenders for this. Although with their prices it could well be that they had tried selling at the higher price!0

All supermarkets do it in some way, mostly Tesco, but they make it laughably obvious and put the larger size of the 'on sale' product near which is usually cheaper, so in some ways it probably does work because they are making you buy the bigger version which would actually be more than the smaller size if it were priced at its usual RRP.
Just don't shop in Co-op, I never do because they're ridiculously priced.0 -
Refuse to buy it at the offer price! Wait for them to put it back up, then buy it.0

Morrisons are the same. I bought some deodorant in there about a month or so ago, no offer, just 89p.
Few weeks later, it was on offer at £1 :eek:I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. In your 12 posts in coming up to 9 years, you've whined about Asda, Tesco, the Co-op, Halfords, Dell, Vodafone, Natwest and Equitable Life. In fact you haven't had a good word to say about anything or anyone.
In your very first post you whinged that the immigrant greengrocers (your words) next to Tesco were miles cheaper, so why don't you shop there?0
