Thank you dotdash79! You've put it into words so much better than me! TROLLING?? Seriously? After all the people who have left unfair replys to my post I'm getting accused of trolling? Honestly, you are pathetic!0

OP there's no need to worry -
Barclaycard only say you're more likely to be approved for a Platinum card if you're on more than £20,000 a year but many people earning less have also been approved.
£2,000 isn't a particularly high limit generally speaking and sounds reasonable if it's your first card but from the same bank you hold your current account with and you have a modest income. My first card was a Barclaycard Initial whilst I banked with them and that carried a £2,000 limit also and at the time I was on a £13,500 salary.
Don't worry. Keep the card, keep to the agreement, don't worry, carry on!

I've definitely had similar experiences.
Turned down for a current account and then approved for a Barclaycard
... different lending / credit approval criteria, but to most people it seems crazy. 0 -
What a palaver over being accepted for a card!
The credit provider will apply their own critreria as to whether or not they want to give you a card. Guidelines will be set out for you before applying but clearly these are not set in stone.
If you have provided all the info they asked you for and you got your card what is the problem?0
