Hello folks got a company fitting a twin wall system to a mendip loxton stove which involves putting a hole through the wall etc to fit the twin wall . Now here are the the questions I would like answers to if possible by any one with knowledge of this type of instulation , they have used rivets to join the vitreous enamel pipes together I have looked and been told it should of been self tapping screws?
Also they have not used a sleeve for the twin wall flue going through the wall the reason is due to they leak to much and cementing around the flue is water tight ?
Also they have not put any inspection places in the chimney at all ?
It also has not got a bottom bracket at the moment and looking at the gear they have its not going to? Plus the have not fitted a 135 t piece with condensation trap is this necessary ?
I hope that this sounds okay as I'm a bit concerned that its not correct .
Many thanks for any advice on this matter leachy.

Should be self tappers.
Should certainly be double lined through the wall.
The condensate trap is a must otherwise the bottom will prematurely fail even if it is stainless steel...it will rot ! the bottom should also be removable for access for sweeping and any other maintenance. The vitreous section from the stove should also have an access point for sweeping, ideally on the upright section where the angle is.You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0
