Jules thats fantastic and a great idea. I'm really under the impression that the more help you give the OR the more "help" they will give you so to speak and this is definitely a help to them, saving them time conducting phone interviews.

Thanks for the reply, I'm definitely going to do this and will post my letter here when I ve drafted it, if you could have a look if you see it (in a couple of weeks or so) then that would be brilliant.

    Thanks again.

    No problem,

I did the letter on a different computer but if I can e-mail it to myself in the next few days i'll post it on here for you so you can see exactly what i wrote and see if that helps you further.

I'll keep an eye for yours!

  • You can also do your letter on the "Extra information" part of the SOA if you want to. At least then you know it won't have got detached from the rest of the paperwork. I put a fair bit of info there, as I didn't want to rely on getting to speak to the OR. I know it was read, because the administrator went through it after my hearing & the OR quoted from it when I had my telephone interview. It's well worth doing, & allows you to include information that the rest of the form doesn't cater for. :)

    Hi Onnit,

my partner & I went BR last week, we were really worried about it, but then could not believe how easy it was we waited about 10 mins in the waiting room the usher came out and told us that we did not need to see the Judge as he was happy to declare us BR...phew, the OR then rang that afternoon and said she would call back the nxt day once she had the paper work from the court to conduct a phone interview, she rang the next day to say she had received the paperwork and everything was self explanatory so she did not have to do an interview...double phew... my main bit of advice would be write a covering letter when you hand in your petition detailing your circumstances, how stressful it all has been etc it does not matter if it is 1 or 3 pages long, i think this helped us a great deal in getting the BR granted so quickly and if you can explain yourself fully in the letter there will be less questions for them to ask.

Good Luck I'm sure it will go ok.

Thanks for this, this is something I had been advised to do by a friend in a similar situation... this is be drafted up tomorrow.. all ready for Monday am!

    Cheers again :o)
