Unfair winnings

Agree with the above. You could say a term of entering the competition was payment, so no payment they're not in the competition. Bet that'll cause a right sh*tstorm though.0

Hi guys
Need your advice please
At work we had a competition on "who can guess the baby weight" on a lady who's just had a baby. We made a spreadsheet so everybody paid to guess, only some people haven't yet paid. She's now had the baby, but the person who guessed it right hasn't paid.
Am I right in just giving the winnings to the next person?
I honestly don't think it's fair for this person to win, as they aren't likely to pay up now they've lost.
Thanks
Delete all the lines of the people who hadn't paid by the time she gave birth and then send the spreadsheet to everyone with the winner's name in the email.Sanctimonious Veggie. GYO-er. Seed Saver. Get in.0 -
Mountain out of a mole hill . Pay the person who won he wont need to pay now as ineffect he will be paying himself !!? I would leave it to him to chase the other non payers.
Advise for the future only allow entry once payment has been received.0 -
I don't think the mother should have been allowed to enter. She's got inside (excuse the pun) information. If I'd have been asked to guess my baby's weight I'd have only been an ounce out, but that's because I've got access to my notes which plot my baby's size week by week and give a prediction of birth weight!
Next time, so that everyone feels these things are fair, don't let mum enter, and don't let people pick a weight without stumping up the quid first. Job done."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
Something I have learned the hard way in the past, money up front if you want to be involved
Not sure I could get too get up in this example though, the woman who won had only dine herself out of a pound. If someone else won and she didn't pay, then I would have words0 -
I'd say the original person won, and he wins "£x," though he needs to collect some £1 from person 1 2 and 3.0

No-one is being asked to pay. I haven't asked anybody. The winnings will now go to the person who has PAID and who is nearest... in this case it's actually the MOTHER!!! :-D
This is a great outcome, as she can buy something for the baby. The guy who didn't pay can't begrudge this!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0
