Yes, its the not quite on the floor, but not as high as a single bed or sofa height thing that would be perfect. Most giant dog beds aren't that much deeper proportionally than, say, big dog beds.
Sadly, a cot bed would be too small for my big girl I think. Hmmm, I don't know though, maybe ? I'm more familiar with dogs than cots tbh! May there are ones big enough?
I'll have a google to see if I can have a look at pictures of cot beds! Thanks for the idea!
She seemed to get though the night on her pallet, and the grey hound squeezed on and did spoons with her, so it cannot be that horrid a bed.0 -
What about one of these:

You could put a flat mattress or something on top to make it more comfy.0 -
Would something like this be big enough?
Suitable for breeds such as Sheep Dogs, German Shepherds, Huskys and other similar sized dogs -

One came up on Freegle and I asked for it for one of my dogs; I missed out so had a look on eBay and they're bigger than you'd think at about 4 / 5ft long.0 -

That sounds ideal.....thank you. That's given me a great steer indeed. I'll have good look around for one or two next week. If I can get a couple she can have one in different rooms of the house, which would be better indeed.0 -
mine just had a regular human mattress. they weren't fussy about sides but they did expect to be tucked in and have cuddles in bed every morning in their bed before they would get up.
Giant breeds rock.0 -

Giant breeds rock.
They do. I grew up with them and had many, but this is the last and when I think about it I want to cry for more than her but all of them, if we had kids these are the dogs I'd want, I had so much from living with them.
But....times change.
A mattress would be ok in her 'bedroom' but would be too big to have al so in the other rooms...where as something that bit smaller she can puffin frustration and follow me where I am and settle down with me again....0 -
My friend got a carpenter chap to make a wooden raised bed (like a box with a low front on legs) and then she just popped a duvet bed in it. Surprisingly it only cost about £60 and was big enough for 2 greyhounds. if you're handy at DIY could probably tart up your makeshift pallet bed and then use foam idea . If a child's bed would do then suppose you could always cut the legs down to make it lower and make some bolsters.0

I had those thick fouton Matresses from my old sofa bed. It was a double one. I folded it in half and bought him a big blanket to make it more snuggly. He loves it and didnt cost me anything extra. Maybe if you try the free ads for someone wanting rid of one, you could salvage the matress from it. It would be low enough.I know my spelling is shocking  It is alot better than it used to be though :rotfl:0
