I am signing off now and will be back on Monday, so don't think I've forgotten - I'll get onto it then. In the meantime if anyone already has names/e-mail addresses/ contact details of landowners, retailer's head office, people who are likely to respond sympathetically to a request to cancel a charge, please start making notes/lists.
Thanks
DaisyI'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
I think Crown Wharf in particular is another example of why all this sucks. They used to have a great system here you went through a barrier took a ticket, first hour was free (still is I think) then you paid on exit with a machine before getting in your car and it gave you change!! All these machines were taken out a year or so back and now it's pay and display. Far more profitable for these Parking management companies because if people over run over on their shopping trips they make big bucks!
Surely Savills excuse of real customers is ludicrous given that previously you paid to park there anyway just paid on exit which meant you couldn't possibly run over your time.
Plus the parking chaos is worse since the new system because when it was barrier operated, the car park knew when it was full, now it doesn't!!! I rarely shop there now because it is such a nightmare,

Just made a slight amendment for you herePlease note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
