Parking Eye - Crown Wharf, Walsall

Hi all
I'm new here...
I've received a PCN from Parking Eye for Crown Wharf, Walsall for £85. I've trawled through quite a significant number of posts on this site and this one seems to bear much resemblance to my case:
forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=4739947
Yesterday I sent an email to the management company, copying in the food shop at the premises (which the driver visited on using the car park). I asked them to ask PE to cancel the PCN as they run a risk of losing customers and if they didn't cancel the PCN I would scream loud about it to all I know. I haven't yet received a response.
What's the next stage? joshdommarc refers to a soft appeal to PE. Can anyone point me to a template for this to enable me to proceed to this stage?
Thanks

Just a few questions:
Date of parking 'event'?
Date of PCN?
Is the vehicle a lease/hire or company car?
Is the vehicle registered to an RK address in Scotland?
Or does the Driver live in Scotland?
Was the Driver over 18?
Daisy
Edit - re soft appeals - see post 4 on this thread by coupon-mad for starters

Note - when researching threads, don't go back any further than threads that were started about 6 months ago, as the advice changed around that time in response to changes in the law and changes in approach by PPCs.
It is important that you adapt your appeal in your own words, referring to your own situation, and don't just cut and paste, as PE are known to reject what they call 'generic' or 'template' appeals, without giving a POPLA code (and that is the purpose of this exercise)I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
Hi LazyDaisy
The date of the event is 29th August
I received the PCN on 7th Sept
No, the vehicle is privately owned.
The vehicle is registered to an England address, and is driven by England residents, aged over 18.
Thanks, I'll look through the soft appeal link you've given.0 -
I was just preparing my soft appeal when I received an email response to my complaint....Hi XXXXX
I understand that you experienced problems on a recent visit to Crown Wharf Shopping Centre.
Your details have been passed to me as Savills now manage this shopping park.
We have had to introduce control of parking at Crown Wharf so that spaces are available for genuine customers. We do believe that the signage is very visible but understand that sometimes customers can miss it.
If you send me your receipt (scanning is the easiest way) I will arrange for the PCN to be cancelled.
Kind regards
Nick Beckett

I'll be scanning the receipt and PCN and sending to him ASAP!0 -
Nice result from a complaint yet again!
That was your email to the management company that did it!
Your thread joins the successes here:

Thanks for your help LazyDaisy, Coupon-Mad and everyone else! :j
To anyone else who's received a PCN for Crown Wharf in Walsall from Parking Eye, note that Savills now manage this retail park.0 -
Brilliant! Well done!
Just a suggestion to the regulars - we know that contacting the retailer/managing agent has a high prospect of successfully and fairly painlessly seeing off the scammer. So I wonder if it is worth having a thread listing the retailers / retail parks / beaches etc that crop up on a regular basis, with contact details of the relevant people/agents in alphabetical order in the first post, as a ready reference?
I am happy to do something like this, and keep it updated, if anyone thinks it would be useful?

Will be a nice reference resource Daisy, thanks for suggesting this and now getting it up and running. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
