i had protein in my urine at my 36 week checkup and didn't have pre-eclampcia, i did have to have a fasting blood test to check for gestational diabetes but all was well.
hope all is well and don't worry too much.

I should firstly say that the asking for medical advice on here is against the rules. Not because MSE want to be mean but because they don't want people mis-advised. I'll comment anyway 'cos you're obviously worried but hope you appreciate you can't rely on what I or anyone says because we're not qualified and it can be dangerous.

Firstly I'd say if you were even remotely suspected of having or getting pre-eclampsia you would have been advised as much and probably sent to hospital or at least booked back for a repeat test in a day or two. Secondly you get protein in your wee for all kinds of reasons and it's only one of many symptoms of pre-eclampsia - presumably you have none of the other symptoms? I regularly had Ketones in my samples from not eating or drinking enough and once or twice had unexplained proteins that were possibly from contamination in the bottle or one of the many infections I had; they didn't know and weren't worried by it. Regarding your blood pressure I think the MW might have meant 65 was a tad under what she was expecting but I would agree 120/65 was not a bad reading!

If anyone was worried about you or your unborn I'm sure they would have investigated the matter further. Please try not to worry, most women have a dodgy BP reading and something in their pee at some point during pg - I think you've just been lucky with the last three!

Actually some of us are qualified, hence the reason for dealing with this querry by PM.

hi i had pre eclampsia in both my pregnancies and let me assure you that if they had any doubt that your blood pressure was too high they would have you in the day centre to be moitered.thats what happened to me at the same stage in my pregnancy's and both times i was kepped in then induced.

If you feel any of the symptoms advised by your midwife then dont hesitate to contact them,or even if your worried about it,get them to check it for you, they wont mind doing it they want you safe and well.

good luck and take care in work as being on your feet all the time wont help eitherx
appreciate what you have got x

Yeah I do appreciate this but there are also plenty of trolls online who give out all kinds of wrong information pretending to be professionals and I just wanted to make the point it's important to be cautious when taking medical advice online.

I'm sure the OP is a big girl who can draw her own conclusions from all the advice offered but I personally did not want to put myself in an awkward position whilst still trying to offer the OP some reasurance based on my limited personal experience of the matter.

In fairness, you just never know who you're really talking to so it's important to be diplomatic when giving sensitive opinions or advice where possible. Not disagreeing with your response at all, just saying there's another side to the argument and that's why I feel it's important to be cautious sometimes.

    Best wishes, Elle x.

Maternal vitamin D deficiency increases the risk of preeclampsia.Maternal vitamin D deficiency may be an independent risk factor for
preeclampsia. Vitamin D supplementation in early pregnancy should be explored for preventing preeclampsia and promoting neonatal well-being.
Be aware that the body uses 4000iu/d the amount in prenatal vitamin tablets is insufficient to prevent Vit d deficiency. Similarly anyone paying heed to Sunsmart policy is bound to remain Vit d insufficient.

If current official advise is correct why do most uk adults have insufficient Vit d status most of the time?
