I iwll agree for 'normal' PC's the is no problems with dell, hp etc and in some cases can actually be cheaper than a self build of the same spec.

I guess you talking the closed loop system, personally I have never bother has they don't offer much over the better air coolers apart from noise reduction which isn't a problem.

I will say gnerally when I was readin up on them I wasn't hearing many bad things, maybe your just unlucky.

it would depend what type of water coolers you are talking about.

i assume you are talking about the all in one coolers, rather than a custom water cooled loop?

I currently run a corsair H50 and its been running without problems for about 4 years

Yeah, a closed loop system. They worked great whilst they did and were quiet as a dream, but then they died in an uncomfortably subtle fashion...

Sealed system? Corsair? I've had an H50 in my build since 2009 its been 100% reliable.

Mine was manufactured by Asutek, the later ones were a different OEM and they're the ones with the problems.

I plan to put together my own custom WC loop together sometime, just need some more parts and the time.

Using an H100 in mines for 2 years now. 4.6ghz 2500k and cpu die is around 55oC on prime95, not much noise and no reliability issues

I always build mine! I'm studying CG so I needed a really beefy PC recently when my old one just wouldn't cut it. Games are super quick on it too now, bonus!

I used logicalincrements.com to help me get an idea of what I could get with my budget, highly recommended if you're a bit lost. :)
