Boiler replacement help

I've just had BG give me a quote for a new combination boiler (Worcester Bosch) and to move it into my loft (which apparently is only £400 more). Their quote was just over £4,000!
Can anyone recommend a registered plumber in the North Kent area?
Help!

  • That sounds everso expensive to me - we didn't pay anywhere near that much to have a whole central heating system put in last year in a bungalow (5 rads, 1 towel rail all with TRV's, Worcester combi in the loft, wireless thermostat etc)

Try a couple of independent plumbers

    that's very expensive. Try independents.
The boiler itself will be £800 ish.
Logic+ combi boilers now have a 7 year warranty, and are about £800.

For reference, we had a logic 30+ boiler installed in a new location, had our heating re-plumbed to get rid of the old tanked system, and had a new 10m 22mm pipe gas supply line put in from front to rear of house, plus removal of all old tanks and plumbing sorted out for £2,400 a couple of years ago, by a local heating engineer.
That was a fair price, matched by one other independent but he couldn't start work as soon.

Get 3 quotes, and British gas are a total con for fitting, IMO.
  • hi mullers,

i had a new boiler fitted 1 year ago which included relocating a old gas fire back burner to the loft with a fantastically efficient glowworm combi boiler. my gas bill has HALVED!!! (averaged over the year) the whole supply and fitting cost me £2600 by a VERY professional Gas safe engineer who i believe covers your area. They were so good i had them back for some other work moving radiators plus fitting a bathroom which im really happy with, i now recommend them to everyone i can and many of my friends have used them with 100% positive feedback. drop me a PM and i will send you his number if your interested (i dont want to post it on the forum as ANYONE could start spamming him with texts).

    thanks
