I would also like to work from home, I have looked on MSE, but with no luck.

There was teletech, apparently not a scam, but when I go to look they either want German speaking or its in Belfast?

Just had a look at Sensee, the only job requires French speaking, urgh I don't speak french.

These jobs just seem like some myth, or speical group which I cannot join.

There is more than one job on Sensee? Only one is french speaking.

I have worked from home for nearly 6 years. Try the sureboom forum http://talk.sureboom.com/forumdisplay.php?f=25 or search on mse.

What other things ahve you applied for? Have you tried Lionbridge, Appen Butler Hill? 360?

I saw two jobs that I was able to view, the french one and some HR vacancy, but I wouldn't be able to do that.

Haven't tried any other sites as I did not know about them, I shall check those out cheers.

    Update:

I have had a look at buttler hill and lionbridge, but nothing in the UK.

It may sound that I am lazy, or making this too easy, but if someone posts a linl to a real job, in the UK, with doable skills that I can do (talk online chat, helpdek, sales etc) then I will apply.

If these jobs are out there, why is it such a headache to find them?

If you look here under Current Vancancies there are five roles at the moment.

    And some are genuine.

I know people who work at sensee and also firstsource both outsource for very well known companies -at least one of them is currently recruiting (my contracts stops me saying which one I work for and who the clients are but a bit of reading back over old working from home posts would tell you ).

There's a big difference between jobs such as Sensee and the random jobs that get posted on the freelance sites such as oDesk.

There are genuine admin jobs on the freelance sites (I've done some research jobs for people), but finding them is like finding the proverbial needle in a haystack. A lot of the jobs are fakes as imoneyop described.

They are all hiring in the UK, so not sure where you were looking! Have PMed you direct links.

I've tried applying to Sensee but they said I can't work from:
    - Main lounge/living room
    - Kitchen
    - Own bedroom (any bedroom used must be spare)
    - Under the stairs
    - Office in the hallway
  • Yes, thats what they said to me but when I said my bedroom wasn't shared they said that would be ok. I can't understand why it should matter to them which room you use as long as you are ok with it and can offer a professional service. They also told me that you also have to have a dedicated PC not laptop and dedicated phone and broadband so you have some setup costs if you haven't already got these.

I have 23 years customer service experience at a high level and got turned down, as I work self employed on some days I can only assume that it was my availability that was the cause of them knocking me back but I had 4 days out of 7 that I said I could be available until 11pm at night. Who knows

I see you have to pay for a CRB check too. And you don't get paid for your training until you've worked for them for 3 months.

Have you got any i/v and assessment tips other than to stress full-time availability?
  • sensee looked not bad money but wouldn't wanna pay for crb check.. i am currently doing some market research work over the computer and phone.. if could find something else to do would also be good
