computer fails to turn off

on/off button.... dont have one, not on keyboard, or tower. Only a plug/out, will turn it off
do you actually have an 'on/off' ?
so what was your reason ?
Sorry, as I only have a laptop I forgot about a 'tower' PC's. On my friends tower PC there's an off/on button on the front, it needs to be pressed before the PC will start, after turning on the 'mains'. Hasn't yours got one? My laptop wouldn't 'stop' holding down the button for say 30 seconds then it turned itself off.0 -
According to the HP User manual for this PC the On/Off button is on the front of the tower.
Easy solution on the Microsoft site.
Do the following:
Go to start menu. Select "All Programs". Select "Accessories". Right click on "Command Prompt".
Choose "Run as Administrator".
When command box appears type in : sfc/scannow and then press enter.
