Maybe he just didn't like your food?
Maybe but there were at least eight different food places line of sight (this was a large town centre) so he had the choice.
It was when he said to me "But my Mum made them" as if that made it OK that made me chuckle. Had he done it discreetly I wouldn't have cared TBH but even when he had been told he didn't have the sense to be a bit discreet about it. We tend to do Hull/Zee every 6 weeks-ish during the low season.
As far as I remember the collect-booze-when-you-get-off policy came in some time last year. Cars are supposedly pulled at random for security checks but I was getting pulled every time. I got a bit fed up with being pulled into the shed. There are usually 3 security officers to each check, one does the interior, one for the boot and one under the bonnet. It's normally ''open the doors, open the bonnet, open the boot' so I made them wait their turn while I stayed with each officer in turn. When 1 check was done they went on to the next and didn't seem to like the delay I caused.
They also xray the bags and found a bottle. I was warned not to bring any in future. That was before I found out they do not have jurisdiction.0 -
Just an update- I complained to Pand O who claimed that it was to stop alcohol related instances ( although you can buy on the ferry) and that most of the problems were on the outward trip! Thats because they know they cant ban you from bringing duty free back or no-one would travel with them. After all that they have offered me a £25 voucher off my next booking! Wonder why if they feel they are justified0

In simple terms this so called: 'Policy' is only practiced by P&O against their British customers. That's because they think British people are stupid enough to keep coming back for more... regardless of how badly treated they are.
If you want to make a proper point on this issue, write to their customer services telling them how long you have been a customer and that you will never travel with them again.
You can catch a flight from at least four reasonably local airports in the north - direct to Amsterdam and book a cheap hotel in AMS cheaper and much faster than you can travel with P&O. Simples!0
