Well done Mrs!! Will be nice when that OT money clears and you'll be over £400 in the last few weeks!! Good news on the husband too. I think when they start to see how committed we are and how well we're doing they come on board a bit more.

Updated my signature and pleased with how its all coming down.
Not much to tell here but I've not had an NSD since Wednesday due to grocery shopping, did a main shop on thursday then bits from the market yesterday, DH got some stuff from his work and I had to step out to get some bread flour today.
Realised it's actually cheaper to buy it from the supermarket as opposed to farm shop which seemed cheaper but actually wasn't by about £6!

DH said due to the balance transfer on his card he didnt need to make a credit card payment this month so said he wanted to use the money (his account) to fill the chest freezer with "stuff" I said why not just pay extra off your card, we don't need more stuff! He just doesn't quite get it.

I've signed up for the October challenge so hoping that helps to keep the positivity up. I do wonder if I can actually pay off my credit card by the end of the year and then just up the payment of the other one, would awesome if I could...

Right so I have signed up to the October challenge AND 15 NSDs (must be crazy)
I have also decided to put away £35 a month from the kids child benefit into a savings account, this will eventually go towards their ultimate dream of Disneyland. Does that sound silly or indulgent?
The remaining amount will go into stuff they need so this month it's new pjs, socks and a few pairs of long trousers and long sleeved tops each, I will be checking out the nearly new store for stuff for them though.
I really feel like I have had several LBMs in the last few weeks, wondering why I haven't done this before, why have I never thought to make small payments or put more money away when I did so well while on maternity pay! Grrr what a muppet I have been, still onwards and upwards I guess!

I'm going for 15 too. We can help each other along!!

Disneyland is certainly not silly or indulgent. If it's something you want and you save for it then it's a brilliant idea. It would only be silly and indulgent if you thought "Sod it, lets go this weekend and whack it all on the credit card. We deserve it right now and shouldn't have to save.".

I too have been wondering why I didn't do this ages ago. But we can't dwell on the past, just look to the future.

True wegle, look to the future instead of dwelling on the past.
Thanks to you and raggydoll85, it's something we want to do with the kids anyway and won't do it for a few years due to their ages so should have it all saved for by the time we are ready to go.
Since giving up FB and Twitter, I have wondered how on earth I found time to actually use them! Also I am so much happier and content now I am not comparing myself to be people who I don't really give two hoots about. I'm enjoying keeping life simple and being with the people who affect my everyday life not just people who are mere associates. Blimey, that sounds deep, I would delete it once and for all but I have a few few folks on messenger and admin a few pages so need it open still.Twitter however will be going.
All budgeted for October and mostly for November, am actually enjoying all this number crunching business despite the fact I am abysmal at maths.

Argh my DH is a blooming nightmare! We went to get the DC some new pjs and he just tries to sabotage all the time by suggesting we get a cheeseburger! Er no i said, home for some flap Jack and a coffee.
He is quite happy for me to deal with it all but he moans he has debts and an overdraft and there is no wonder, most of the debt in the signature is his personal debt, £550 it is mine and if he can't try and get a grip on it then what?
Anyway I managed to spend 31.50 on the kids, so £1.50 over budget BUT as I didn't get charged £2 parking at the hospital it kind of balances it out.
On the way home I tell DH that I am only do this for our own good. He just doesn't seem to care. I did then say well if its your account do what you like with your money but don't complain to me when you are skint.

    Morning,

Two NSD so far this month, going for another today.
Dead impressed with myself for switching our bankaccount this morning so we don't get charged for OD for12 months AND earn interest on paying in £1,000. Again, WHY DIDN'T I DO THIS SOONER?
It means that we can try and get out of the OD without being charged woohoo!
DH is off for a few days so is doing some manly jobs around the house. Also means we can have a proper Saturday together.
I'm working tonight and then doing OT on sunday so that extra OT cash will go on the CC which I have predicted will bring down to £87, not bad considering less than a month ago it was £210. Aim is to pay it off by the end of the year now then focus on the £410 one.
DD has a party tomorrow then we are due to go to my brothers for tea so should be nice, was also asked to work Saturday but said no as I want some family time.
    Feeling pretty good today :-)

    Hello,
It's been a few very busy days here. Managed 10NSD/SFD (are these one and the same? Still I haven't spent anything unless it's budgetted since the beginning of the month)
DH and I worked out that we have around £30 left for our shopping budget for the month, at first the budget was £110 as I spent £60 in the supermarket and got £50 cashback but realised that our upper budget of £150 was a bit more realistic! however I am now thinking it's not! We sat down and wrote meals out from stuff we already have in and have 12 evening meals, DH sat and wrote down another 7 simple evening meals from stuff we could buy for under a tenner. We still need to factor in milk, friut for the kids and we have run out of washing powder and dishwasher tablets so that's at least £7. Think we can stay under £150 but it will be tight!
I'm not working this weekend for the first time in 4 weeks so I'm catching up on jobs and tonight it's pizza and beer night (got to have some treats!)
I've been forecasting our JA and it's looking so much better than it was, we are going to have a meeting with our bank regarding our insurances which seem extremely high and I am sure we can do better!
Also I didn't know till this week that if you make a payment on your credit card 4 days before a DD payment to it the DD doesn't go out. still I am hoping that CC 1 (which 0% ends January) will be paid off by November now, esp if I get a few more OT shifts!
I have booked a week away next October for us through my work which won't need paying till we get there, so I will put small amounts into my savings account (which does some save the change thing where payments are rounded to the nearest pound and the remainder goes into the savings account) to help pay for it.
It's not anything big or flash, just a week self catering for £300. I thought as we cancelled this years holiday due to funds I would forecast for next year and put money away for it.
It's going well and I have predicted I will have around £100 in my account come pay day, esp if I don't spend any additional money between now and then.
