Hmm thats tricky but good call on stopping the good food and treats for him for now. I assume you are on maternity leave at the moment? Therefore i think its unreasonable that he expects to take turns paying bills. Sounds like he is taking the mickey at bit especially as you have had a baby together.
I hope he soon realises that you need the support.

Back to work now. Our son was born on the 2nd of January. I have been struggling with debts since then but I am ready to sort things out before it gets worst. Wish me luck.

I don't, why? Just a husband and two children here:p
Yeah i used to do a lot of surveys but just didn't get as much time so stopped. We do shop and scan which earns us points and we have lots saved up this year. Plan is to use for gifts
    at christmas.
I've tried comping but really couldn't get a mojo for it! I
ouldn't dedicate the time it required, I still enter them on an ad hoc basisIbut never win anything.
I am still working on an SOA but I have been through everything on our accounts and called for better deals. I've saved £20 on sky and that was non negotiable with DH he loves his sport and watching it and he never goes out so I wouldn't want to deny him of that pleasure also that includes phone and internet.
Thanks for your post, I may just try comping again!

Oh my bad! I'm so used to moving in doggy circles where GSR stands for German shepherd rescue, I immediately thought that's what your GSR stood for! :D

Comping is hard work, I don't doit anymore for that reason but if you can find the motivation you can get good returns.

I understand about the sport. We're the same in our house with formula 1. Used to be great when it was on the BBC but now it's on sky. We can't get sky here thank god but it is awful only having highlit shows and having to have full media blackout so you don't hear the result before you get a chance to watch.

So I have managed 2 NSD yay! Today I am taking tea to work so today will be a NSD too.
I had to pick my daughter up from school in the car yesterday as I was on the phone to a company who had been taking money from me without permission for an insurance I never signed up to! When I took out my car insurance two years ago it was never mentioned and as I couldnt get a better deal I renewed this year. It was a separate company taking the insurance not the company I was insured with, I never received any documentation from them so had no idea!
Funnily enough they have changed their wording on the insurance application because they had so many complaints. It was only a small amount so I had barely noticed until my bank flagged it up when I spoke to them yesterday.
However they have cancelled it and they are refunding me so that extra few pounds is going towards upping a credit card payment.
I made another PAD to a card of £1.39 when the payment of 39.90 comes through I will move over 0.90. I'm guessing these little payments will add up!

Made some calculations last night. I figure I can pay one card off in 6 months so that's my aim, any additional money I have will go to that. Once I have sorted out my hours at work I can make that a regular payment. The plan is then to use that money towards the other card to pay that off in 6 months.

Tomorrow will be a spend day though, I have to buy my son new shoes tomorrow and a duvet set, luckily I can use my staff discount for the shoes and will seek out a cheap duvet cover set and pillows I am planning the spend will be around £45 for these.
I also want to pop into the Asian supermarket to buy some store cupboard ingredients for recipes already planned for this month.
After the total purchases I am guessing I will have around £40 for the rest of the month which will cover any additional payments.
15 days till pay day and I am to make all those days bar this Thursday NSDs. Is that doable?

Brill news on getting rid of that insurance payment. I hate it when companies sneakily add something on, its so underhand. If their product was any good they shouldn't need to do this, just goes to show how rubbish it probably was!

You can definitely do those 14 NSDs if you really focus. :j I've got 19 days until payday but I'm going to try for 14 NSDs as well, we can do it! I've left my purse at home today so that I can't be tempted! :D

Hope you have a great day! xx

Thanks! I really really hope I can do it, although it's going to be dull and tough! Still another bonus is I am losing these extra pounds thanks to walking!
Good luck with your NSDs and hope your day goes well too x

Yay! DH went through our savings and transfered £500 over to the overdraft! Yay! Hence the edit. So when his pay goes in it will be cleared! Yay! I have put our joint account cards away. No spending allowed on them at all now just for mortgage and bills. I think that will make a huge difference to our finances.
Also managed 3 NSD in a row despite the fact the dinner I took to work was crap. Never mind, next weeks will be much better.
Gearing up for a spend day tomorrow, I fear it may involve petrol and parking too :-/
Still feeling positive after what has been a dark few days. Money really does effect your mood doesn't it?

Woo hoo!! :j:j That's a great chunk off! You're gonna blast through this debt no problem, I can tell!

3 NSDs in a row is brilliant too. For work dinners I usually take left overs from the night before's dinner. So today I have some tomato pasta for lunch. It saves having to faff around making something else for lunch and it's generally something nice and tasty.
