Why are you bothering to take them back to the post box, just put them in the bin.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

add the deceased to the mail preference service
Its not RMs remit to stop mail and the postie is right to (and its the core rules) deliver as addressed
dont bother 'taking time' to return them
bin them or open them and contact the senders direct
just to be clear. its only been a few months since you moved in
large companies dont update mailing lists regularly0 -
I didn't think I was allowed to bin post that wasn't addressed to me which is why I've been posting them back!! God I feel stupid now, yesterday I had such a massive pile it took me 1/2 an hour to mark them all as return to sender and posted them on the way to pick my lo up from nursery lol!!
So just to clarify, can I now bin them?0 -

We wrote return to sender for about 6 months. Now just bin them. Still doing so 8 years later!
I asked the bank once (o/drawn bailif (sp?) letters, not statements) and they said even they've been told a person doesn't live here any more, if they have no forwarding address, then they'll send important letters like "you owe us money" here by default as no other place to send them.
They did also reassure me there would be no visit from bailiffs!... Phew!

Thanks guys, just binned the 7 (!) that came through this morning. Weirdly more comes for Mrs rather than Mr, I'm still getting used to seeing her name without feeling a little sad

If you bin or ignore they will keep coming, contacting the business' directly is the only method I've had luck with (Family member deceased) Sometimes it takes two or three complaints/contacts but generally it has all stoped now for me.0
