Missed Appointment British Gas-Dyno Rod

Good Morning,
I was due to have an appointment today with a plumber from Dyno Rod (via British Gas Homecare). The appointment was meant to be between 8-1. Suprise suprise they didnt arrive, when calling british gas homecare they informed me that when booking the appointment, the guy who answered the call put it under a blockage, when it should have just been a plumbing issue. Therefore the appointment was cancelled but I was never informed of this. Therefore my husband has sat at home all morning, to then be told no one would be coming and the best they could do is possibly fit us in tomorrow.
Is there any kind of compensation for this? As I have told them that a possible appointment tomorrow is not good enough, and have rebooked for friday.
I know that for gas/electricity missed appointments the compensation is £22, but we have lost £65 for half a day sat at home.

Any help would be greatly appreciated and I'm sorry if this reads bad but I am fuming!

rules laid out by OFGEM concerning meter appts do indeed carry a form of compensation. However for agreements such as homecare or any other company that offers such a maintenence agreement, there is no such rules or law, and as such compensation is at the descretion of the company.

Obviously from what you have said you have a good case, as it wasnt simply a case of a no show, but infact the job was cancelled, without you being informed.
Promo codes are never always cheaper..... isnt that right EuropCar?

I would call and make sure a complaint is opened and then ask for compensation.
