Hi money savers,
Does anyone know of a (free) program I can download to keep track of our household budget? (on a laptop PC). I've Googled, but can only find apps for iPhone/android.
Thank you, Boo. x x

It really would be so much easier to do it on excel...you dont even need to know how to use it really as you can just fill your own figures in with a calculator ...plus you can add in everything you need.
(obvouisly using the functions would be easier but if you really was a newbie at it :-) )People don't know what they want until you show them.0 -
I use an Excel spreadsheet
I check my account a couple of times a week online and put my current bank balance at the top with the date, followed by other monies incoming during the month with dates, such as wages, child benefit. these then add up to make a total.
Underneath I list all the monthly outgoings and dates if relevant. I change the amount to a 0 when it gets paid and as it's configured to keep a running total of outgoings and balance so it tells me at a glance how much disposable income I've got left (if any!) I can also add in any extra outgoings that month, for example i've just had to pay for my son's college trip but that's a one off so would be removed once paid.
OH gets paid 4 weekly and I get paid monthly so his pay date is variable throughout the year whereas the direct debits are constant so I have to keep a close eye on it.Over futile odds
And laughed at by the gods
And now the final frame

If you have excel, there's a budget planner on this website which I've found really useful!0
