Getting a PAC code for a number not in your name?
Options
This is a bit of a tricky one but I will try to explain it as clearly as I can.
Roughly 10 days ago I was checking my phone usage online and saw that I had gone 300 minutes over my allowance, costing me £75, my average bill before this being £8-10 a month on a T-Mobile Sim Only 12 month contract. I told my partner about this bill and he told me to call up T-Mobile, cancel my contract with them, and he would get me a new deal on O2 where he works.
So I called up T-Mobile, told them I wanted to leave, agreed to pay the £37 early termination fee, and got my PAC Code off them to move my number over. He got me an S4 on a £26 a month contract (with his discount applied), taken out in his name, and ported my number over.
Anyway after a couple of days trying to use the new phone I decided I really didn't like it and wanted to go back to my Blackberry. At the same time I called time on the relationship and tried to organise returning the phone. Apparently only he can do this because the contract was taken out in his name.
So the problem is, he has the contract out, and I have the phone, we live 200 miles apart, and the 7 day cancellation period ends tomorrow. The thing I'm most concerned about though is getting my mobile number back.
If he doesn't co-operate, is there any way I can get the PAC code even though the contract is in his name? I don't want to keep the phone and I don't want him to keep paying for the contract, I just want to get back the number I have had for 8 years and get a deal in my own name.
Any help appreciated, thanks.

The problem you have is the cancellation period ends tomorrow so unless your ex cancels the contract you are both stuck in a dilemma
You will not be able to change your number back without his help
as soon as the provider gives him the pac code the contract will be finished and he will have to pay the termination fee and what's left on the contract
If it was brought from a mobile shop then you may not be able to cancel the contract not all providers give you 7/14 days return
If brought on-line that's different you get the 7/14 days return
So what ever happens you have got to talk to your ex theres no way out he holds all the cards you won't be able to do anything because its in his name sorry its bad news.Nobody is Perfect. I am Nobody, therefore I am Perfect.0 -
