Son knocked unconscious on Butlins ride.

so if you are not to bump into each other, then why do they cars have a 8inch + rubber bumper wrapped around the car.0

I've just come back from Butlins, and I didn't see any no bumping signs on the dodgems. The only one I saw was on the Go-Karts.
In fact, we were encouraged to bump, although maybe as it was adults only weekend, they relaxed the rules slightly? They all did have seat belts though. The one I was in was over both shoulders as well as across the lap.0 -
Does anyone mind if i "bump" this thread?"if the state cannot find within itself a place for those who peacefully refuse to worship at its temples, then it’s the state that’s become extreme".Revd Dr Giles Fraser on Radio 4 20170

Some harsh comments here guys, even if you do think ops overreacting in her description and expectations of the ride you can't disagree that there was some serious failing at the park when the incident happened - failings that most certainly do need to be addressed.
The staff operating rides should be paying attention!
The staff should be aware of how to correctly deal with injuries, including the reporting of them.
The staff should have dealt with the injury itself much better. Knowing it resulted in unconsciousness, to send op packing like such is completely inappropriate.
Yes op could have rung an ambulance.
Yes op probably did have poor expectations as to what to expect on the ride.
But in such a situation emotions would have been high, thought processes are not the same, so to expect the staff to be trained and collective in making good decisions as to how to deal with it is not unreasonable.
Maybe ease off op a bit guys.0 -
Oh and 'no bumping' on the dodgems - what the *** is the point then ?!
What next... Log flume without the water and slopes?!0 -

Obviously wasn't Butlins Bognor, as they made everyone wear seat belt including adults, and shouted at people who did actually bump0
-
Tho the staff at Butlin Bognor probably wouldn't have helped much more anyway.
We witnessed a girl fall from the top of the merry go round steps. The attendant finished loading the ride before going to help her. Her dad had Vaulted the fence in the meantime. No idea of outcome, we was too far away, but girl was sent I believe to the first aid room, with her parents.0 -
