HELP!!! Switching to BT

Options
Hi i was wondering if anybody can help me.

I'm switching from TalkTalk to BT for my broadband, i've given BT the MAC code which TalkTalk sent me.

When i contacted BT to switch over they told me my new router would be delivered on 23rd September but i've now received an email from TalkTalk saying that my knew service provider will take over within the next 5 days. Does this mean i will be without internet access until the 23rd?! Or will my old Speedtouch router still work when BT take over?

Thanks!

Not unless BT provide you with a username and password ( not your email account)for your new account with them. Assuming your existing TT router can be used with other ISPs at all.
That gum you like is coming back in style.
  • I'd be best ringing BT wouldn't i to see if they could send the BT Hub out sooner?

Its possible your phone line will move to bt first and your internet later. So you may find you continue using your talktalk internet for a while.

Otherwise if you do migrate to bt you should be able to use nearly any standard router with them. You do need a username from bt. This will be similar to your bt issued email address. If you google bt router settings you will find lots of details on how to do it such as

    good luck
