Presents for spouses.

Hi All,
I'm new to this board but wondered if people could give views on economical, small presents to purchase for spouses just as I Love You gifts. For instance I always think most men would be fairly safe buying their OH' s flowers but not sure what women could get their OH' s. Obviously, there will be exceptions to the rule (ie flowers) but all ideas gratefully received.
Thanks.

The best gifts are free...0

Thanks for that and I do agree but it's not particularly helpful in this case.:D0

Ok, it was meant to be a bit facetious but IMO actions say I love you more than gifts.
What were you thinking of? My OH wouldn't be particularly enamoured with a box of chocolates or a bunch of flowers but he does appreciate the odd bar of chocolate etc. TBH he'd rather have workshop stuff/tools etc as a gift than anything "soppy".0 -
A book? CD? DVD? Special bottle of beer? Chocolate? Amusing card?[0

Try to expand upon his interests e.g. is he into Top Gear? You can always get Clarkson books in charity shops for a few pounds in mint condition (my OH loves these), is personal grooming high on his list - small bottle of after shave, something for the car - spanners/socket set etc, does he have a desk job - pen set, what about a T-shirt or a tie if he wears a suit?"Life moves pretty fast, if you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it": Ferris Bueller

Framed photo of happy family event?
Memory stick of books by loved author to go onto kindle?
Tickets to cinema with food, drink, childcare all sorted?
Car wash & valet with all not-rubbish stacked in a cardboard box?
Whatever the current equivalent of a mix tape would be to listen to driving, or doing the washing up?
A wine tasting invite?
A trip to a favourite TV program location? (For example, almost any South Wales castle for Dr.Who but Castell Coch for the easy win.)
Just a few ideas that might trigger other ideas...0 -

Thank you to everyone for all the ideas. It's difficult to give views on his interests as he doesn't really have any hobbies etc. I just feel the need to be able to give him small inexpensive gifts as he does so much and helps me out enormously. He is not into gift-giving himself, he's only bought me flowers once in the 11years we've been together!
Just want to show him how much I appreciate all he does but can't afford to spend very much.
I appreciate all your suggestions, especially the last one!!
Thanks again to all of you.

For my OH it'd be a bottle or two of a nice beer, a specialty one rather than your normal lager. Along with a decent steak/ other favourite meal. In the past i've bought him some American chocolates he loves but are difficult to come by or a magazine on gadgets or travel, which he always enjoys but thinks are a little too pricey to buy regularly.
He buys me £3 roses from the supermarket, cheap but they last 10 days and make me very happy!0 -
I sometimes come home with a packet of liquorice all sorts or jelly babies as a surprise if I have been to the shop. It just let's him know I was thinking of him while I was out xxx0
