Need to get passport photos for myself and my 3 children. Booths are going to cost me 20 pounds and I don't NEED 4 photos just 2 each. Would it work out cheaper to take them myself on my digital camera and get them printed? I know the info booklet says professionally printed but don't recall it saying they need to be professionally taken?
Thanks

Although they dont NEED to be professionally taken, i think it could be worth it.
For example, my local photo studio only charged £19 to have passport photos of myself and my 2 children taken. They also provided a guarantee that they would be accepted 1st time, and would refund the price of the photos plus the price of reapplying for passports if they werent.0 -
If you can get the photos on a digital camera, then get said camera to either Boots or Asda who will print passport size photos.
ASDA charged 64p for a print with 6 passport photos on it, and did it while I waited. It's possible Boots are even cheaper - but location & convenience then kick in.
Good luck & travel safe!0 -
I've never had mine professionally taken (or printed for that matter)
As long as you follow the guidelines, no shadows, correct position etc. you can do them yourself.
When my printer broke I had them done by photobox, they have the full requirements on there and you can move the crop box around until you're happy.

I took photos for my sons' passports earlier this year, used online software to prepare them and printed them.
I thought they could be better so I put them on a memory stick and got the printed at Boots but decided my own printer was better and used the first lot.
Came back in just under a fortnight - no problems.0 -
I took LO's myself (sat in his Bumbo against a light coloured wall) uploaded them to Boots and had them within a couple of days, they weren't expensive. Even his big cheesy grin was ok with the passport people (he was about 9 months old at the time).0

I need a new passport and driving licence so will need photos.
I have tried in vain Boots, Sainsburys, Morrisons so far have failed me. Having followed the advice of other MSEs we have taken them at home and loaded them onto my USB, but it seems nobody offers a printing service.
Can anybody suggest where I can still find such a service in London?

If you don't need them today/tomorrow you can upload them to Photobox

Otherwise Snappysnaps do them
