I'm hyperventilating. Did a shop today including robertsons, S&G and blackberries. Receipt has gotten wet in my bag. Smudged the barcode numbers. I think I can make them out but will they accept the APG I (hope) I get?

Genuinely feel like I'm having a panic attack. It only cost me £4 after APGs but the thought of not getting anything back is massively stressing me out.

Managed to womble one receipt today. A mere 20p back. It makes me sad to see receipts all smooshed and mushy on the floor :(

Good luck eeeeeee map. Deep breathing needed. Have you got your APG sorted? if not write the numbers down now while you can see them.........:o:)

No emerald, when I press the on button a green light comes on and just sits there merrily flashing. The comp just won't power up and because of that the screen won't come to life either :(

Hi Altojack, where exactly is the green light? It could easily be indicating a power supply issue. Try another power cord from a different machine. Try reseating all the wires.

    ***
    some googles:

The flashing green light usually signifies standby power for the PSU. It doesn't mean there is enough power for your system to POST. You can check the manual to verify.

My guess is that the PSU needs replaced.

Also, since this is a Compaq (now HP), try this:

Unplug the cord from the PC and whack it on a hard surface, like the floor, a couple of times. Then plug it in.
    ***
First thing to try is to re seat everything and check and re connect all the connections
If you are not comfortable about this have someone do it who is.
If it is the power supply you can't fix it you will have to replace it.

All fixed. I replaced it with the power supply from my older model and it works fine now. Thanks.

Should be ok Emma as long as the top of the receipt is readable. The SA needs to check the TR (Transaction Number) which is on the line between the store address and the first item on your receipt.

Is nt it annoying. My hubbies pc wouldn t come on as it didn t recognise his password all of a sudden. So I asked on the Techie Board and got a few replies. Some suggested starting it up in safe mode and I just did various things that was suggested and in the end I reset windows to a week earlier when it was working ok and it worked. Hubby was all for buying a new pc lol.

Thanks TM. I've written them down. Have to wait another hour before I can check it. Gah!

It's funny how quickly I've gotten used to the idea of getting money back on every shop. The family don't get my stress! Sister keeps telling me it's just a receipt. JUST a receipt?!

And thank you Chrisv. It'll be ok. Most of the receipt is readable. *crosses everything*

Hope the bloody weather improves. Silly rain ruining everything.
