When I walk down the country lanes
I know that you're there too
You're racing through the bracken
Just like you used to do
The rustling of the undergrowth
That only I can hear
I know it's just to let me know
That you are still nearOur Family Motto ~If all else fails - read the instructions...

We live in a rented house, so cant put a flap in the back door
I have the same problem with my cat, the cat from down the road is always in our garden trying to fight my cat, it evens comes up to the patio doors looking for my cat, I have tried all sorts, water, white pepper. it can not get into the house but I caught it trying to sneak in when my back was turned, I shouted at it, pointing and wagging my finger and telling it to get home, funny enough it is the only thing that has work, it hears my voice and it is off and running:rotfl::rotfl:0 -

Pick a special plant/rose/tree and plant it in garden/pot in remembrance...helps to focus on the life and not the end (sorry but it helped me with my departed pets). What a lovely poem ...0 -

Morning everyone.
No picture this morning from me as today is not a good day for me.
My German Shepherd, Misty, who has been a big part of my life for the past 13 years, is being put to sleep this morning.
This is one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make and although in my heart I know I'm doing the right thing, I feel so bad.
Instead of a picture, I thought I'd post this poem;
When God had made the earth and sky,
The flowers and the trees.
He then made all the animals,
The fish, the birds and bees.
And when at last He'd finished,
Not one was quite the same.
He said, "I'll walk this world of mine,
And give each one a name."
And so He traveled far and wide
And everywhere He went,
A little creature followed Him
Until its strength was spent.
When all were named upon the earth
And in the sky and sea,
The little creature said, "Dear Lord,
There's not one left for me."
Kindly the Father said to him,
"I've left you to the end.
've turned my own name back to front
And called you dog, my friend."
So sorry wackynut, may God give you strengh0 -
