Morning mad squad, I need some advice please, I have advertised something on Gumtree and someone has got in touch to say they will pay me via PayPal if I send it to them.
I'm sure I've read something before about a scam like this where they then claim the money back?
Is this safe?
TIA
I would request the money from them and put in the notes exactly what it covers, then when you get the money, transfer to your account so you know you have it! Then send the item.
Thanks0 -

I think as along as you can prove they have received it, using some trackable method that paypal accepts, then I think it should be fine.0 -

You will be fine if you can provide proof of posting/delivery. I don't know what size your item is? If it's small and your using RM, then make sure you send it registered. Use Hermes or a similar courier with a trackable service for larger items.
The PayPal scam is when people pay by PayPal, collect the item from you and then claim they haven't received it. There are numerous other scams but that's one of the most common.
Edit: I meant to say also, only send to the address registered on paypal0 -
