Going to spend a nice day checking out wood burning stoves and the cost of logs.

Nice project before winter.

Also, our neighbour has planning for a 15m wind turbine. A company are paying for the planning costs and installation. He gets free electricity and they sell the surplus to the grid. We are keeping an eye on his progress and may follow if he gets approval.

Unfortunately he has had a few objections including one from the parish council

We are looking seriously at the cost of our energy before it becomes unsustainable. Saving pennies on the shopping is getting lost in the big black NPower hole:o The main saving we think we can make is cutting out baths and substituting them with showers. Not totally of course but enough to make a difference:o

If you are anything like me with them, scanning everything I see that might be 1p you will get checked when you go to check out, so don't panic, they just go through random things and scan them then you carry on. They are a pain in the **** for coupons though, rather like the self-scanners. Enjoy
