How do I connect my Sony Bravia to the internet so I can stream Lovefilm

I recently had a mini money makeover and changed my broadband provider to one that is unlimited and then cancelled my sky movies and registered with Lovefilm so I could stream movies. However, I don't know how to connect my Sony Bravia TV to the internet (should probably have looked into this before). Do I need to buy something else to do this and if so what do I need?

Thanks, the TV is about 4 years old so I don't think it is a smart TV. What is cat 5/6? I was wondering, do I need a blu ray player?0

What is cat 5/6?
It's Ethernet cable and used for connecting devices to your router.I was wondering, do I need a blu ray player?
If your TV is not a smart TV then yes buy a blu ray player which is capable of connecting to the internet and Lovefilm. All Sony blu ray players can and I'm sure there are others.0 -

Yes perfectly possible to connect the TV to a suitable computer, laptop etc.
However it's much easier to use a blu ray player with Lovefilm.0 -
It is a Bravia KDL32s3000. I don't have an Xbox, PS3 or xbox, but I do have a laptop - could I connect that instead and if so what would I use to do that? Sorry, I thought I was pretty savvy on these things but this is making me feel like a complete ditz!0

Or a new Sony blu ray player for around £70 doing exactly the same apart from playing games.
How much is a 2nd hand PS3?0 -

Sorry I was referring to your statement of streaming from the net and laptop. I was assuming, although it appears not what you meant, that it was hard drive streaming from a PC.
WiFi is available on the Sony blu ray players from £80 but no 4OD as yet and no full browser.
You never said how much the 2nd hand PS3 was?0 -

So around £150/£160 for PS3 with 350gb/500gb hard drive.0 -

You shouldnt really need a huge harddrive if you have a PC in the house.
I was only going with what you said earlier about a 320-500gb hard drive. You can get brand new PS3 slim for that.
So unless you're into gaming, a blu ray player for half that price seems sensible.0 -

I don't need anything. The OP, however, does.are you actually interested or is this simply a pointless discussion?
It's not a pointless discussion. I am helping the Op decide if s/he would need a Blu ray player or a PS3 if h/she would prefer not to hook up the laptop and have a more integrated approach.0 -
Thanks for all the help and advice - and sorry I seemed to cause some bickering. I decided to buy a sony blu ray player with built in wifi, a second hand PS3 was way more expensive.0
