Hi guys/girls im an out of contract customer at sky been out of contract since April of this year.today I phoned up sky for the first ever time as a friend of mine got the same package as me for half the price so I thought id give it a go. I have sky entertainment with sky sports sky broadband unlimited and sky phone I pay 65.50 per month. I basically tried getting a better deal to maybe get sky entertainment extra + thrown in and bt sports at the same price as im paying now and all they came up with was knocking like 2 pounds off my line rental ha. Does anyone know any good ways to maybe get a better deal they wouldn't even throw in hd.thanks in advance pm if needed as well.

I will try that knowing my luck they will just say ok fine ha. Will they cut me off straight away?

Think you normally have see out the month, or thirty days or whatever, I can't recall. But even if they do that,I think you can just ring up, and ironically, cancel your cancellation within that 30 days. Normally a good idea to research what you can get from other providers and for how much, and use that against them when they ask why you're cancelling.

Yeah good idea it sounds like im a rite scrounger but ive never had any deals from them then I hear someone I know getting more than me for half the price I thought sod it il have a go. I don't even get hd fibre broadband bt sport or entertainment extra plus. My friend gets the lot. I'll have to try and find a better deal than what I'm getting with virgin or something knowing my luck I won't be able to.

i had to ask to cancel (and pick the cancellation option when I called) to get Sky to upgrade me to the HD box for no extra charges (I've been a Sky customer for 8 years so out of contract with them for years). I told them I was considering moving to Virgin Media as they could offer a similar deal, but all unlimited internet and HD services etc.

Once I phoned to cancel, they were quick to offer me the HD box etc and installation free. Don't waste your time with the online chat people - they were completely useless, clearly typing from a script.

Yeah I found that out on friday 2 pounds off my land line was an insult il phone now and keep you guys posted here. I came up with two options say im leaving because I was offerd a 12 month half price on my package when I became out of contract in april and it hasn't been applied to my account which of course is a white lie or I have a better offer with virgin and see what they say.

Speaking to sky as we speak and the cancellation guy is trying to sell me more sht ha I want a better package or a cheaper price. Offered me entertainment extra with hd for same price but ties ne into another 12 month contract with sky phone and broadband. I said id call back. Think il ring and cancel call there bluff if it fails sod it ha.

Result after much perseverance I got entertainment extra plus all hd channels and the sports in HD for 50 quid a month so basically knocked 16 pounds off my monthly bill along with all channels and hd and best of all im still not in contact with sky. The 50 includes sky unlimited broadband anytime calls and land line as well.

Make that a free new broadband hub worth 72 quid and still no sky contract ha getting good at this tomorrow im going to go for a 2tb box not greedy or anything......

Just hit the jackpot I have all HD sky sports entertainment extra plus broadband and phone. I originally had only entertainment broadband and sport no hd or extra plus. I phoned the number what mark steps posted and said id received the offer she went away and said yes im entitled to 50% off ha im now paying 29 pounds a month for all that for 12 months total saving of 432 pounds a year and have full setup. Not bad going guys oh and im still not in contract with sky.

You might find that you are indeed under contract with Sky.....

Now you have got all that out of them. I would ring up and check,
