  • I've waited up all night to check my banking at half 12 and I've been paid! Happy times! Just separated my half of the bills money and my expenses for the next four weeks and I don't have to account for my Vodafone bill until next payday because of the day it falls on! I guess that's a benefit of being paid four weekly as opposed to monthly :o

Have £466.36 left after all bills aside! Will round that down to £400 now and put £66.36 into the Argos fund, and for each NSD I achieve I'm going to put a payment to either this or my overdraft :)

I nearly put half of the money left over aside straight away but decided against it as I wouldn't want a situation where I was taking from either fund and putting it back in my current account. Plus it's nice to feel like there's a steady but constant progress by putting a little in each day :D

Also, just watched 3 of the 5 episode so of Great British Bake Off on BBC I player. How have I not seen this before? Right up my street, I love it!! :o

  • Oh direct debit just came out for student grant too which I had put aside as a bill so that's £60 towards that! Although I won't put extra to that each month as it's less of a priority than the other 2!

Woo hoo for payday!! :j:j I love that you waited up, just so you could do some money management!

Using NSDs as payment days is a great idea. Plus you'll feel like you are paying off loads with how many NSDs you do!

I'm so glad you love Bake Off!! It's brilliant. I've got a major "shouldn't but would" crush on Paul Hollywood. He can come and test my tarts anyday! :p

    Argos Card - £145.58 / £340 - 42.8%!

This is epic! Well done mate! This will be gone before you know it! :j:j
  • well done with the Argus debt SS!! That is a mighty high APR they got you you on there! So it will be great to tell them to shove it hopefully within a payday or two!!

And isn't GBBO brilliant! Even my OH enjoyed it - although he didn't think much of Hollywood - even less so when I told him his name!! :rotfl::rotfl: But me - that silver fox is a bit of a cheeky non-crush!!!! :D;)

Keep up the good work!! I usually class a morning as a NSD then try to stick to it the whole day!!!! So today is a NSD and now because I won't want to break my promise to myself hopefully I won't spend! :money:

Every day is a constant internal battle for debt-freeness with me!:)

I'll be watching your progress SS (in a non-creepy way)

  • Paul Hollywood...hmmm yeah I think it's his eyes? And you can certainly tell he'd be a little dominant? :D

I've watched 3 episodes now and I'm a little hooked! Might try and find the earlier series to download or something! I think Mel and Sue are hilarious! Couldn't stop laughing at them when I saw them on Alan Carr the other night.

Welcome to the diary C-R thanks for coming over :) the 42.8% isn't APR on the Argos it's the percentage paid off so far. Luckily there's no interest at all added unless I don't pay it off within 6 months, and the date for that will be sometime in February for half of it, and March for the other half, but I certainly aim to have paid it off well before that!

After eventually going to sleep at around 3 last night, I somehow woke up feeling like a spring chicken at 7 this morning! So I thought I'd walk the fella over to the train station (next to my shopping center) and get my shopping done early! So as well as buying groceries, I've bought enough ingredients to make 3 different types of fudge!

Doing those 3 that you linked earlier wegle, and also another one: http://www.carnation.co.uk/Recipes/6...hocolate-Fudge
    http://www.carnation.co.uk/Recipes/1...d-cherry-fudge
    http://candy.about.com/od/sugarcandy/r/cherrywhitechoc.htm

For the ginger and cherry fudge though I am substituting ginger for dried cranberries instead.

Most of the things I've got have come out of the grocery fund which was put aside last night, but personal spends have come to £4.46. Can't really round down £375.54 to £375 as you have to transfer at least £1 between accounts. So have rounded down to £370 and put £5.54 into the Overdraft fund! :)

Also, found two really great bargains today.

    1) A little wooden plaque that says:
"LIFE'S TRUEST HAPPINESS IS FOUND IN THE FRIENDSHIPS WE MAKE ALONG THE WAY".
This will be perfect in my best friends gift bag for Christmas, so I guess I've officially started my Christmas shopping! It was just £1 from Home Bargains and they had it in two different colours. I went for the plain black text on beige plaque, and I intend to spruce it up a bit with a pack of stickers or something :D

    2) If like me you like a bit of spicy sausage *ahem* then you'll find Peperamis at Asda (always plugging Asda I know) for just £1 for 5! Working out at 20p each, and you can have either the red or green ones. I like the red ones so much, I just gobbled two up already! (I don't know what's got into me today (which sounds just as bad)). I'm going to stop now.

  • Just finished the white chocolate and cherry fudge, and the chocolate fudge has set. Don't think I'm going to do the other one tonight as I thought I only needed 2 cans of condensed milk, and it was actually three. But with those two batches there is more than enough to take tomorrow :)

Woo hoo! Good going on the fudge front. Can't take credit for the recipes though, 'twas not me that posted them!

Home bargains is amazing for, well, bargains! Got loads of stuff in there for my wedding and was bulk buying glow stick bracelets before Beautiful Days Festival!
