My six year old is still in pull ups at night, it costs me £5+ per week in nightime pull ups, due to his size I can only buy the branded pj pants as there is no shop brand alternative.

Does any one know of a night time washable pant that is suitable for his age? I have tried using washable potty training pants but they do not hold enough liquid and leak.

I am not worried that he is still having accidents at night (due to medical issues he is only just now dry in the daytime) its just its costing me a fortune, money that I really can't afford :(

Thanks

Have you considered the thick fleecy liner that comes with certain washable nappies?
They are almost like a fleece panty liner, I shouldn't think they would be as comfortable though and certainly not as discreet.
Have you considered finding out if you are entitled to free large nappies, the ones disabled children use?
Might be worth a chat with the doctor or your health visitor x

Thanks I know what you mean I might try them inside the potty training washables I have but I can't see them staying in place overnight or DS wanting to wear something that is 'two part' and tricky to put on. I don't think I will be entitled to any help as the medical profession don't consider night time wetting as a problem until he is at least seven (probably later in his case due to only now being dry in the day).
  • I have been told I can apply for my child with special needs to get nappies from age 4 but that may be due to them being for day time too. It's worth finding out though. My sone still wears pampers green nappies in a side 6 as he is thin so fit fine

  • i used fuzzibunz - they are washable reuseable nappies, i used them from birth until my dd was about 6 - they come in various sizes ( depends on weight of your child) they have a pocket inside , you place in a washable absorbant pad.

I like the look of these, when your dd was 6 was she able to pull them on and off herself like pants? I don't want ds to think I am putting him back in 'baby nappies' he has done well to get himself dry in the day and I don't want to knock his confidence.
